What a COA is

A certificate of analysis is a report from an independent laboratory — not the brand, not us — stating what a specific batch actually contains: how much CBD, how much of every other cannabinoid, and whether controlled ones are present. A COA that is not tied to a batch number is close to worthless, because it says nothing about the jar in your hand.

The number that matters in the UK

The limit that governs what can legally be sold here is 1mg of controlled cannabinoids per container. Per container — not per dose, and not a percentage. A 100ml bottle and a 10ml bottle face the same 1mg ceiling, which is why the big bottles are the hard ones to get right.

You will see “0.2% THC” quoted all over this industry, including by retailers who should know better. That figure comes from the rules for growing industrial hemp and has never applied to a finished consumer product. Anyone using it as a compliance claim is telling you they have not read the law. Where our reports come from

We are a stockist, so the COA for a product is the one issued to the brand that made it and passed to us by the distributor. We hold them per batch, and we will send you the one covering your order. If a brand cannot produce a current certificate for a line, we do not list that line.

Full-spectrum, and why we flag it

Isolate and broad-spectrum products have had controlled cannabinoids stripped out, so the 1mg test is straightforward. Full-spectrum keeps the whole plant profile and is the category where the limit is genuinely at risk, which is why every full-spectrum line needs a fresh certificate every batch rather than one on file.
