Who Orange County CBD actually are

The name is a piece of Californian styling and it works, which is presumably why it keeps getting mistaken for the company's address. The company itself is registered in Liverpool and has traded since 2019. Hemp is grown on US farms, and the extract is then blended, bottled and packed at the brand's own manufacturing site in the UK. Their own wording for this is USA sourced, UK made, and it is accurate.

That matters more than it sounds. A British manufacturing base means the finished product is made under UK food and labelling rules rather than imported ready-packed, which is a meaningful difference in a category where most brands are importing from the Netherlands, the Czech Republic or Spain. It is also why the range is labelled the way it is: milligram figures on every line, a food supplement designation on the edibles, and a batch reference on the pack.

Orange County is also the most heavily promoted brand we stock. Its own site describes it as the most decorated CBD brand and lists a long run of industry awards. Those awards are real and published on the company's own awards page with the awarding bodies named, which is more than most brands manage. Read the dates, though, and they run from March 2020 to December 2021. Nothing on that page is more recent. The reputation is genuine, but it was built during a specific two-year run and the page has not moved since.

The strength ladder, which is the real reason to buy this brand

Orange County runs the widest strength range in this shop by a distance, from a 100mg gummy grab bag up to a 25,000mg oil in a 100ml bottle. Nobody in the current search results has put that ladder in one place, and it is the single most useful thing a buyer could be shown, because choosing a strength is the actual decision people are trying to make.

Two things to read carefully. First, the milligram figure on a jar or a bottle is the total in the container, not the amount in one sweet or one drop. A 4,800mg gummy jar is a large jar, not a lethal one. Second, the strength ladder is not a quality ladder. A 500mg oil and a 6,000mg oil are the same extract at different concentrations, so the higher number buys you fewer drops for the same amount, not a better product.

The gummies come in bears, cherries, cubes, worms, peach rings and strawberries depending on the strength, and are vegan. The oils split by bottle size as well as strength, which is where most of the confusion in this range comes from: there is a 1,000mg in a 10ml bottle and a 1,000mg in a 30ml bottle, and they are very different products in the mouth.

Lab reports: the part this brand genuinely does better

We have written honest pages about brands that publish nothing. This is not one of them, and it would be unfair not to say so.

Orange County states that its products are third-party tested at an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory and maintains a lab reports section on its own website where certificates can be found. Batch reports for individual products are downloadable, and one of them turns up mirrored on a third-party site, which is a decent sign that the documents are real rather than decorative. ISO 17025 is the accreditation standard for testing laboratories, so naming it is a substantive claim rather than a badge.

For comparison, two of the other large brands we stock publish no certificates at all that we have been able to find. Against that, Orange County is the best-documented brand in this shop, and if lab paperwork is what decides your purchase, it should be at the top of your list.

One caveat, and it applies to any brand. Six of the 27 lines we carry are full spectrum, and full spectrum is the one grade that deliberately keeps the plant's other cannabinoids in the extract. Those are the lines where the per-container question below actually bites, and they are the ones to check the certificate for rather than assuming.

How Orange County compares with the other brands we stock

No brand can publish this table about itself, and none of the eight UK pages ranking for Orange County has published one either. Here is where it sits against its closest rivals on our shelves.

Against Vitality CBD, the other British brand in this shop, the split is clean. Vitality is narrower and more clinical in tone, built around oral sprays and drops, and only one of its 11 lines carries a milligram figure in our listings. Orange County covers five formats, prints a figure on all 27, and goes far higher at the top end.

Against Aztec CBD, the comparison is about where the depth is. Aztec is a vape and gummy specialist with cartridges, pod kits and prefilled pods, and its full-spectrum vape range is stronger than Orange County's. Orange County wins on oil, where Aztec does not compete at all.

Against Hempthy and Cannapower, both of which also print figures on nearly everything, Orange County is the one with the ceiling. Hempthy tops out at 1,500mg and covers sweets, mints and capsules that Orange County does not make. Cannapower tops out at 1,200mg and adds creams and solid extracts. If you want high-strength oil, only Orange County goes there.

Where Orange County is strong, and where it is not

Strong: the documentation, as above. Also the consistency. Every line carries a figure, the packaging tells you what the product is and what it is not, and the edibles are labelled as a food supplement with a THC-free mark rather than left ambiguous. In a category full of themed confectionery with no declared content, this is the grown-up end.

Also strong: the vape side is better than its reputation. The distillate pod system takes replaceable 750mg pods rather than being thrown away, and the 2,000mg CBD and CBG device is a rechargeable pod device with refill pods available separately. Since single-use vapes were banned across the UK on 1 June 2025, a rechargeable pod device is the compliant format, and this is one of the better ones we stock.

Weaker: the brand has drifted. Orange County's own homepage now leads with NMN gummies, Lion's Mane nootropic gummies, an adaptogenic sleep mix, nootropic coffee and functional mushrooms. Every hero image on it is a supplement rather than a CBD product. We stock none of that line, by a deliberate decision, so the 27 lines here are the CBD range only. If you came to this page expecting the full catalogue the brand advertises, that is why it is not all here.

Weaker: the awards page has not been updated since December 2021, while the marketing built on it has kept running. That is not dishonest, but a claim to be the most decorated brand in a category reads differently once you notice the dates.

Weaker: the strength labelling invites a specific mistake. Two 1,000mg oils exist in different bottle sizes and they are not the same experience. The naming does nothing to help you tell them apart, and neither does any page currently ranking for this brand.

Who should not start here: if you want cannabis-themed confectionery, novelty formats, hash or solid extracts, this is the wrong brand entirely. Multitrance covers the first and Euphoria covers the second. And if you want the highest-strength oil as a first purchase, do not. Start at 500mg or 1,000mg and work up, because the top of this ladder exists for people who already know their amount.

Where Orange County sits under UK law

The UK consumer test is one milligram of controlled cannabinoids in the container. Not per drop, not per sweet, and not a percentage. A container is the sealed unit you buy, so a 100ml bottle is held to exactly the same absolute ceiling as a 10ml one, which is why bottle size matters to the question and concentration does not.

The 0.2 per cent figure that circulates across this category, and which appears on plenty of pages ranking for CBD brands, is a different rule. It describes the THC permitted in a standing hemp crop grown under a Home Office cultivation licence. It is a farming threshold about a field, and it has never been the test for what may lawfully be sold to a consumer. None of the pages ranking for this brand states the real test at all.

Ingestible CBD sold in Great Britain sits under the Novel Foods regime and requires authorisation from the Food Standards Agency, with validated products published on a public list. CBD vapes and topicals fall outside that regime, so the e-liquid, pods and balms on this page are not Novel Foods products and should not be described as authorised. The FSA separately advises healthy adults to keep intake from food supplements to no more than ten milligrams a day, which is regulator guidance rather than a dosing instruction from us.

This brand is easy to find, so the honest question is what a stockist adds. Three things, in our case.

Accuracy. We have corrected the brand's nationality, dated its awards, separated its CBD range from its supplement range, and put the whole strength ladder in one table. None of that appears on any page currently ranking for the brand, including the retailer pages with three times our authority.

Continuity of supply.
