Replacement pods for the Iguana Smoke kit

This is a rechargeable device, so when the CBD runs out you replace the pod rather than the whole kit. These are the Iguana Smoke refills that fit it.

The Iguana Smoke 510 Cartridge Battery Pen is a rechargeable battery that powers CBD vape cartridges, with adjustable voltage between 1.8 and 4.2 volts, a preheat function and USB-C charging. It holds no CBD itself and cartridges are bought separately. The number in the name is the important part, and it is worth understanding before you buy any cartridge at all.

What 510 actually means, and why it is not brand lock-in

Five hundred and ten is not a model number or a marketing flourish. It describes a threaded connection: ten threads at a half-millimetre pitch. It became the common fitting for cartridge vaping years ago and it has stayed that way.

The consequence is the useful bit. A 510 battery runs 510 cartridges whoever made either one. This pen is not restricted to Iguana Smoke cartridges, and Iguana Smoke cartridges are not restricted to this pen. The brand says as much in its own wording, describing the battery as compatible with a wide range of cartridges and atomisers.

That is worth spelling out because of how this hardware is sold. Batteries and cartridges are almost always presented as matched pairs, which quietly suggests you are buying into somebody's ecosystem and will be stuck there. You are not. The battery is the durable part of the arrangement and it will outlive any single brand's range, any discontinued flavour and any supplier who stops answering the phone.

One honest limit on that. The standard guarantees the thread fits. It does not guarantee every cartridge behaves identically on every battery, because coil resistance and oil thickness vary between makers. A cartridge that runs beautifully at two and a half volts on one pen may want a little more on another. What you are buying is compatibility, not uniformity.

It also means a battery is the one purchase here that is genuinely reusable. Single-use vapes, CBD ones included, have been banned across the UK since June 2025, and a rechargeable battery with a replaceable cartridge is the arrangement that replaced them. We have written about that ban in full on the Hempthy vape liquid listing.

Slim or Wide, and why we cannot yet tell you which this is

Iguana makes two of these batteries, not one. There is a Slim version and a Wide version with a screen, and they are sold as two separate products because they are built around different cartridge widths. There is also a pocket case designed to hold 1ml and 2ml cartridges.

Our own listing is titled in the plural and does not say which of the two it is, and our product record carries no variant either.

That is a gap on our side and it is the single most likely way to end up with the wrong thing from this page, because the difference is physical. A wide cartridge does not seat properly in a slim pen. It is not a matter of taste or preference, it simply does not sit right.

So we are telling you rather than picking the likelier answer and presenting it as fact. Ask us and we will confirm which version and how many pens against the supplier before anything ships, and we confirm the shipping unit on every order in any case.

If you already own cartridges, measure or check them before ordering. If you are buying cartridges at the same time, tell us and we will make sure the two go together.

There is no CBD in this, and our own record says otherwise

This is a battery. It contains no CBD, no cannabinoid of any kind, and nothing that is consumed. You supply the cartridge.

Our own product record disagrees with that, and it is worth owning rather than quietly fixing. It records the cannabinoid type as isolate, on a piece of electronics.

It is the third time we have caught that field being wrong. Elsewhere in this catalogue it says isolate on a tea whose maker describes hemp seed oil rather than CBD, and on ten sets of gummies whose brand describes broad spectrum. Three is a pattern rather than a run of bad luck, so it has gone to the owner as a problem with how the field is imported across the whole catalogue instead of three separate corrections.

None of that affects what arrives in the box. It does affect whether you should trust a specification field on a product page anywhere, including ours, and the honest answer is to check the thing that matters against the maker.

Voltage, preheat, and the button

The specification is straightforward: a 400mAh cell, USB-C charging, an adjustable range from 1.8 to 4.2 volts, and a small screen.

The button does three jobs depending on how many times you press it. Five presses turns the pen on and off, which is the standard safety arrangement that stops it firing in a pocket. Three presses cycles the voltage. Two presses starts the preheat.

Here is why those two features exist, which no CBD shop bothers to explain. CBD distillate is thick. Thick oil moves slowly into a coil, and a coil that fires faster than the oil can reach it is a coil that scorches. That is what people are describing when they say a cartridge tastes burnt.

So the sensible approach with any new cartridge is to start at the low end of the range and work upwards until it draws the way you want, rather than starting high. And preheat exists precisely because of that thickness: a short, gentle warm-up loosens oil in a cold cartridge or one that has settled, which is the usual fix for a cartridge that has stopped drawing.

USB-C rather than micro-USB is a small thing that is genuinely worth having, because it means the same cable as almost everything else you own.

All of that is about how the hardware behaves. Nothing on this page tells you what vaping CBD does, here or anywhere else on this site.

What to put on it, and who should skip it

The obvious match is the Iguana Smoke CBD cartridge, which is a 2ml at 1400mg. Any other 510 cartridge will fit too, which is the whole point of the preceding sections.

If you would rather not bother with separate parts at all, Iguana also makes a pod kit that comes complete, and there is a replacement pod for it. That is a simpler purchase and a less flexible one.

Skip this if you want something that works out of the box. It is a battery on its own and it does nothing without a cartridge.

Skip it if you already have a working 510 battery. There is nothing here that a functioning 510 pen with adjustable voltage does not already do, and buying a second one because it matches the cartridge brand is exactly the assumption this page exists to correct.

Skip it if you need to know today whether it is the slim or the wide version and cannot wait for us to confirm.

And skip it if you were looking for a disposable. Those have been off the UK market since June 2025, and this style of kit is what took their place.

Frequently asked questions

What does 510 mean on a vape battery?
It is the threaded connection, ten threads at a half-millimetre pitch, and it is the common fitting for cartridge vaping. Any 510 cartridge screws onto any 510 battery regardless of brand, which is why the number matters more than the name next to it.
Will this battery work with other brands' CBD cartridges?
Yes, provided they are 510 thread, which almost all are. The standard guarantees the fitting rather than identical performance, so a cartridge from another maker may want a slightly different voltage to draw the way you like.
Is there any CBD in the Iguana Smoke 510 battery?
None at all. It is a rechargeable battery and nothing more, and the cartridge that holds the CBD is bought separately. Our own product record wrongly lists a cannabinoid type for it, which we have flagged for correction.
What voltage should a CBD cartridge be run at?
Start at the low end of the range and work up. CBD distillate is thick and moves slowly into the coil, so firing hard at a cartridge that cannot wick fast enough is what produces a scorched taste. There is no single correct setting across cartridges.
What is the preheat function for?
Loosening thick oil. A short, gentle warm-up softens distillate in a cold cartridge or one that has settled and stopped drawing properly. It exists because of the viscosity of the oil rather than as a luxury feature.
Why does a vape battery need five clicks to turn on?
It is the standard safety arrangement across vaping hardware, and it exists so the device cannot fire by itself in a pocket or a bag. The same five-click convention turns it back off.
Are there different sizes of Iguana 510 battery?
Yes. The brand makes a slim version and a wide version with a screen as separate products, built around different cartridge widths, plus a pocket case for 1ml and 2ml cartridges. Our listing does not currently say which version it is, so ask us and we will confirm.
Is a 510 battery and cartridge better than a pod kit?
It is more flexible and less convenient. A 510 setup lets you use cartridges from any brand and keep the battery indefinitely. A pod kit is simpler to buy and use but ties you to one maker's pods.
