Licensed artwork, and the code that proves it

Most rolling paper design in this category is riffing. A pack that looks a bit like a famous artwork, a character who resembles someone you recognise, a font borrowed from a film poster. It is easy to do and it is everywhere.

G-Rollz took the harder route and licensed the real thing. According to independent write-ups of the brand, the collaborations are official: genuine Banksy artwork, a real Cheech and Chong partnership, and the Pets Rock and Dunkees ranges licensed from source rather than imitated. Our Pets Rock cones and Cheech and Chong blunt cones are both from that licensed programme.

The consequence is the interesting part. A brand built on licensed art is a brand worth counterfeiting, and G-Rollz responded by putting a QR authenticity code on the booklets so a buyer can verify the pack rather than trust the shelf. That is a genuinely useful consumer protection and, of the eight pages ranking for this brand in the UK, exactly one mentions it in passing.

One caveat we should be straight about. The brand's own website is currently unreachable, redirecting to an empty landing shell, so everything in this section comes from third-party sources rather than from the company directly. We have said so rather than dressing up secondhand information as verified fact.

Pick a flavour, then pick a format

Here is a small, practical thing about this range that makes it much easier to shop, and which no page currently selling it has published.

The pre-rolled hemp cones and the hemp wraps use the same nine flavours. Blueberry Bop, Flavor Fiesta, Green Funk, Honey Buzz, Orange Dream, Passion Haze, Russian Cream, Strawberry Pop and Tropical Twist run across both formats. So if you already know which one you like, you can move between a cone and a wrap without starting the flavour hunt again.

The Cheech and Chong blunt cones run their own separate set of eight: Blackberry OGK, Blueberry Kookies, Dutch Blend, Green Punch, Natural OGK, Strawberry Cheesecake, Tropical Pulp and Watermelon Sunrise. Those do not overlap with the nine above, so read that line as a different menu rather than an extension of the same one.

A word on the Cheech and Chong line specifically, because the name invites a misunderstanding. Terpene infused means flavour. Terpenes are the aromatic compounds that give plants their smell, and infusing them into a wrap changes how it tastes. It does not add cannabidiol or any other cannabinoid, and nothing in this brand does. If the word terpene made you think otherwise, that is worth knowing before you order.

What the papers are actually made of

The material story here is more specific than most of the aisle, which usually stops at the word organic and moves on.

Independent accounts of the brand describe papers milled in France, which is where a large share of the world's rolling paper has been made for a very long time, using hemp organically grown in Spain. The fibre blend includes bamboo alongside hemp, the gumline is vegan acacia sap rather than a synthetic adhesive, and the materials are described as non-GMO.

The filters are the other distinguishing detail. The cones and wraps use corn husk filters rather than the rolled card tip you get with most papers. That is a different material doing the same structural job of stopping the end collapsing.

We are deliberately not going to tell you that any of this makes for a better or cleaner smoke. The largest independent page about this brand does exactly that, saying the filters reduce harshness and that you can smoke with peace of mind, and we think a retailer has no business making claims of that kind. What we can tell you is what the thing is made of, which is above, and leave the rest alone.

The grinders are worth a separate mention because they are unusual. Both the two-piece and three-piece are made from a hemp-based material rather than aluminium or acrylic, which makes them the only grinders on this site that are themselves a hemp product rather than simply a tool for one.

How G-Rollz compares with the other paper brands we stock

Against Juicy Jay's, the wrap specialist, G-Rollz is the one with the wider format range and Juicy Jay's is the one that has been doing flavoured wraps longest. Monkey King spans papers, tips, rolls and cones and is the closest thing in the aisle to a single-brand answer.

So the honest summary: G-Rollz is the best choice in this aisle if you want a cone or a wrap and you care what the pack looks like. It is not the choice if you want depth in loose papers, where we carry exactly one G-Rollz line and four from RAW.

Where G-Rollz is strong, and where it is not

Strong: format coverage. Cones, wraps, papers and grinders from one brand, with a flavour system that carries across two of those formats. Nothing else in the aisle spans that much.

Also strong: the licensing and the authenticity code. Paying for real Banksy and a real Cheech and Chong partnership is a decision with a bill attached, and shipping a way to verify the pack is a reasonable response to being worth faking.

Also strong: the material detail. French mills, Spanish organic hemp, bamboo in the blend, acacia gum, corn husk filters. That is more specific than most of this category manages.

Weaker: only one loose-paper line in our range. If papers rather than cones are what you want, this is a thin shelf and RAW is a much deeper one.

Weaker: the brand is hard to verify directly, because its own website is not currently serving. Everything above is third-party sourced, and we would rather have had it from the company.

Weaker: two further cone lines from our second distributor are held unpublished because they duplicate a line we already list and arrived without images. That is our importer to fix, not a fault of the brand, but it means the shelf is slightly smaller than the supply actually allows.

Who should not buy this: anyone who came to this site for a cannabinoid, because there is none in anything here. Anyone who wants a deep loose-paper range should go to RAW. And if you specifically want a wrap rather than a cone, Juicy Jay's has been doing that one job for longer.

Every page we examined either publishes under two hundred words of filter furniture or spends its length telling you the filters give a cleaner smoke. Nobody explains the licensing, nobody mentions the authenticity code, nobody notes that the cones and wraps share a flavour set, and nobody points out that terpene infused means flavour rather than cannabinoid.
