The disposable question, which nobody ranking for this brand answers

Search Darwin CBD and a substantial part of what comes back is about disposable vapes. One retailer runs a page of roughly eleven hundred words under the heading Darwin CBD Disposable Vapes, discussing puff counts and the brand in the present tense. Another advertises disposable CBD pens in its collection title. Summaries of the brand still describe it as the most popular name in CBD disposables.

Single-use vapes have been illegal to sell in the UK since 1 June 2025, under the Environmental Protection Single-use Vapes Regulations 2024. The ban covers any vape that is not designed to be refilled and recharged, and it applies whether the device contains nicotine, cannabidiol or nothing at all.

Not one of those pages mentions it. To be fair to them, the landing page in question lists no individual products and no stock at all, so we are not suggesting anyone is currently selling you something unlawful, and we have not checked every listing on every site. What we can say is that pages describing a prohibited format as a live option are still ranking, still being read, and still carrying no note that the rules changed.

That matters here more than on any other brand page we have written, because Darwin's compliant products are genuinely good and they are the answer to the same problem. The pod kits are rechargeable, the pods are replaceable, and the device is meant to be kept. That is the format the ban was designed to move everyone towards, and it is the only format of Darwin we list.

Why the kit and refill numbers do not mean what they look like

This is the single most likely way to buy the wrong Darwin product, and no page selling the brand explains it.

The numbers on a kit and the numbers on a refill pack are counting different things. The 1800mg pod kit contains four pods at 450mg each. The refill pack for it is described as 900mg, because it holds two of those same 450mg pods. Same pod, same strength, half the quantity.

The smaller family works identically. The 300mg kit ships with a single 300mg pod, and its refill pack is a 600mg two-pack of the same 300mg pods.

So if you are looking at 1800mg next to 900mg and concluding that the refills are weaker, they are not. You are looking at a box of four against a box of two. Buy the kit once, then buy refills forever, and the only number that describes your actual experience is the 450mg or 300mg on the individual pod.

The 60ml vape juice is a separate thing again, at 3000mg across the bottle, for anyone using a refillable tank rather than the pod system.

Two families, and your flavour probably does not cross between them

Darwin runs two separate pod families and they are not variations on a theme. One is plain cannabidiol. The other combines cannabidiol with cannabigerol, usually shortened to CBG, which is a different cannabinoid from the same plant and one that far fewer brands bother with.

The practical consequence is about flavour, and it is the second thing nobody tells you. The plain CBD pods come in eleven flavours and the CBD and CBG pods come in twelve, but only four appear in both lists: Fruit Punch, Pink Lemonade, Sweet Strawberry and Watermelon Ice.

Everything else is exclusive to one side. Bubblegum, Cola Cubes, Cool Mint, Lemon Drizzle and the three menthol mixes exist only in the plain CBD family. Berry Lemonade, Blackcurrant Blue Raspberry, Blue Tropic, Blueberry Cherry Cranberry, Cherry Lime, Kiwi Passionfruit Guava, Raspberry Pineapple and Strawberry Watermelon Bubblegum exist only in the CBD and CBG family.

So if you have settled on Cool Mint and you want to try the CBG line, you cannot take the flavour with you. Pick which cannabinoid mix you want first, then choose from that family's menu. The 60ml juice is the exception and carries the widest list at nineteen flavours, spanning both.

On what CBG actually does, we are going to be unhelpful on purpose. It is a distinct cannabinoid and there is genuine research interest in it, but no CBD retailer is in a position to tell you what it will do for you, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we can say is that it is a different compound, that Darwin sells it as a blend rather than alone, and that the CBG line carries a higher total in the box.

Where Darwin sits on documentation, and it is not the top

Darwin is registered in Hull and describes its extract as ninety-nine per cent pure cannabidiol isolate. Retail listings add that the pod kits are UK made, that the 300mg kit runs to around six hundred puffs on a rechargeable battery, and that the pod is fifteen per cent cannabidiol by concentration.

On lab documentation, the brand's own site says that lab results are available on request. Nothing is published or linked.

It is worth putting that on a scale, because we have now looked at this for most of the brands we carry. Orange County publishes batch certificates on its own product pages, so you can open one before you buy. Professor Herb links out to a folder held elsewhere. Darwin will send you a result if you write and ask. Euphoria, Multitrance and Vitality publish nothing at all.

Available on request is not nothing, and for an isolate product the stakes are lower than for a full-spectrum one: refining to ninety-nine per cent strips the other cannabinoids out, so there is far less to be uncertain about. But it does put the burden on you rather than on the brand, and a buyer comparing two isolate pod systems should know that one of them lets you check first and this one does not.

One more thing about scope. Darwin runs a considerably wider shop than we do, including nicotine vape hardware from other brands and a nootropic powder line. We carry neither: nicotine products are outside what this shop is for, and we stock no supplements of any kind. The five lines here are the CBD range only.

How Darwin compares with the other vape brands we stock

Darwin is a pod specialist, and against the rest of our vape shelf that focus cuts both ways.

Against Aztec, the comparison is format. Aztec runs 510 threaded cartridges that fit any standard battery, plus its own closed pod system, and its cartridge line is full spectrum. Darwin is closed-system only and isolate only. Aztec gives you hardware freedom, Darwin gives you a simpler decision.

Against Orange County, it is documentation and range. Orange County covers oil, gummies, balms and e-liquid as well as pods, prints a figure on every line and publishes certificates. Darwin does one thing. If you only want vape, that focus is fine.

Against Professor Herb and Euphoria there is barely a comparison to draw. Both of those run H4CBD in their vape ranges, which is a semi-synthetic cannabinoid rather than cannabidiol. Darwin runs neither. If you want to stay strictly with plant cannabinoids in a vape, Darwin and Orange County are the two straightforward choices on this site.

The thing Darwin genuinely wins on is the CBG blend. Very few brands sell a cannabidiol and cannabigerol pod at all, and nobody else on our shelves does it in this format.

Where Darwin is strong, and where it is not

Strong: flavour depth. Sixty-five variants from five lines, and nineteen flavours in the juice alone, is more choice than any other vape brand we carry.

Also strong: the CBG blend, which is genuinely uncommon and the main reason to choose this brand over Orange County if pods are what you want.

Also strong: it is a rechargeable, refillable system made in the UK, which is the right side of the format question and the reason we stock it.

Weaker: lab results on request rather than published. For an isolate product it matters less, and it still puts the work on you.

Weaker: closed system. The pods fit Darwin devices and nothing else, so you are committing to one manufacturer's hardware. Aztec's 510 cartridges do not tie you down in the same way.

Weaker: the numbering, which is the most confusing in our whole vape aisle and which the brand has done nothing to clarify.

Weaker: everything reaches us through a single distributor, so availability rests on one supply route.

Who should not buy this: anyone who wants a full-spectrum vape, since every Darwin line is isolate and Aztec covers that ground. Anyone who wants to read a certificate before ordering, in which case Orange County publishes them. And anyone hoping to carry a favourite flavour across from the plain CBD pods to the CBG ones, because unless it is one of the four shared flavours, it is not there.

Where Darwin sits under UK law

The single-use vape ban is the one that matters most for this brand. Since 1 June 2025 it has been unlawful to sell a vape in the UK that is not designed to be both refilled and recharged, regardless of what is in it. Darwin's pod kits and refill pods satisfy that comfortably, and we list no disposables from this brand or any other.

On cannabinoid content, the UK consumer test is one milligram of controlled cannabinoids in the container, not a percentage. Cannabidiol isolate refined to ninety-nine per cent is the grade least likely to approach that ceiling, because the other cannabinoids are removed during processing rather than retained. That is a genuine practical advantage of an isolate range and it applies to everything on this page.

The percentage figure that circulates widely across this category is a cultivation rule about a standing hemp crop grown under a Home Office licence. It has never governed what may be sold to a person, and one of the retailers ranking for this brand publishes it elsewhere on its own site.

Vapes sit outside the Novel Foods regime entirely, so nothing on this page should be described as Novel Foods authorised in either direction. That regime covers ingestible cannabidiol, which Darwin does not sell to us. Everything here is 18+ only.

Buying Darwin CBD in the UK

Darwin is widely stocked, so the question is what an independent page adds. Three things here, and the first is the one that matters.

We have said plainly that the format half the search results are still selling has been unlawful for over a year, without accusing anyone of selling it, because a buyer deserves to know the rules changed. We have explained the kit and refill numbering that makes this range easy to get wrong. And we have published the flavour overlap between the two families, which is a small thing that will spare somebody a wasted order.
