Divide by the bottle before you compare anything

The number on a CBD e-liquid bottle is the total amount of CBD in it. To compare two bottles you need the total divided by the volume, which gives milligrams in each millilitre. That is the figure your device actually delivers, and it is the one almost nobody publishes.

Run it across our shelf and the ranking changes. Orange County's 300mg 10ml and its 1500mg 50ml both come out at 30mg in every millilitre. Identical liquid, identical strength, one bottle simply five times the size of the other. Darwin's 3000mg 60ml and Orange County's Cali 2500mg 50ml both land at 50mg, so a headline gap of 500mg between them means nothing at all.

At the other end, Psycho Bunny's 300mg 30ml is 10mg in a millilitre, which makes it the mildest thing here despite carrying the same 300mg on the front as an Orange County bottle that is three times stronger. And the Eco-CBD booster shot is 100mg, ten times the Psycho Bunny, because a shot is concentrate rather than a finished juice.

Some brands print the percentage instead, which is the same number written differently: 3 percent is 30mg in a millilitre, 5 percent is 50mg, 10 percent is 100mg. Orange County's Cali range prints both, which is the most helpful labelling in the aisle and something the rest of the market could copy.

Why CBD juice comes in 50ml and 60ml when nicotine liquid cannot

Anyone who has bought a nicotine e-liquid knows the 10ml bottle. It is not a packaging convention, it is the law: the tobacco and related products regulations cap nicotine-containing e-liquid at 10ml a bottle and 20mg of nicotine per millilitre.

Everything in this aisle is nicotine-free, so those caps do not apply. That is the entire reason Orange County can sell a 50ml and Darwin a 60ml, and it is why CBD bottle sizes look inconsistent next to the nicotine shelf in the same shop.

The practical consequence is that bottle size and strength are unrelated here in a way they are not with nicotine. A 60ml bottle is a supply decision. Work out the millilitre figure first, decide whether that suits you, and only then choose how much of it you want to own.

One thing that does still apply: a large bottle of anything you are only part way through is worth storing properly. Keep it upright, sealed, out of sunlight, and away from a warm windowsill.

Booster shots, and what happens to your bottle when you add one

A booster shot is concentrated CBD in a small bottle, designed to be added to e-liquid you already own rather than vaped neat. We stock two: the Eco-CBD 10ml isolate shot at 1,000mg, and a Euphoria distillate shot which is H4CBD rather than CBD and is covered further down.

The appeal is obvious. You already have a flavour you like, and a shot turns it into a CBD version of itself without buying a new juice. Four of the five pages ranking above this one do not mention booster shots at all, and none of them shows the arithmetic, which is a shame because the arithmetic is the whole decision.

It works like this. The CBD in the shot does not change when you add it, but the volume it is spread through does. A 1,000mg 10ml shot poured into a 50ml shortfill gives you 1,000mg in 60ml of finished liquid, or roughly 16.7mg in each millilitre. Put the same shot into 30ml and you get 25mg. Put it into 10ml and you get 50mg, matching the strongest ready-made bottle on this page.

Two practical notes. Shake it properly and give it time to settle rather than vaping it immediately, because concentrate needs mixing through. And if you want a milder result, add half the shot rather than buying a weaker one, which is the flexibility a ready-made bottle cannot give you.

Isolate, distillate and what the Cali range actually is

Two extract types are on this shelf, and one of them gets described three different ways across UK retail, which is why it is worth ten lines here.

Isolate is CBD separated from everything else in the plant. Darwin, Professor Herb, Psycho Bunny, Hempthy and the Eco-CBD shot are all isolate. It has no flavour of its own, so the flavouring is doing all the work, and there is nothing else in the bottle to interact with it.

Broad spectrum keeps the wider set of hemp compounds with the THC taken out. Every Orange County line here is broad spectrum. When a brand adds that the extract is a distillate, it is describing how it was made rather than what is in it: the extract has been distilled to concentrate the cannabinoids. Broad-spectrum distillate is therefore not a third category, it is a broad-spectrum extract with a manufacturing note attached.

Full spectrum, the grade that deliberately keeps trace THC, does not appear in this aisle at all. It exists elsewhere on this site, in oil and in the vape pods, but no bottled e-liquid we stock is full spectrum. If avoiding THC entirely is your priority, this is the simplest aisle on the site to shop.

The Cali range is the one that confuses people. Orange County runs two separate e-liquid lines: the standard range, flavoured as fruit, menthol, lemonade and tobacco, and the Cali range, named after cannabis varieties and flavoured with terpene profiles to match. Same brand, same broad-spectrum extract, same strengths. The difference is entirely what it tastes like.

In short: Darwin has the deepest flavour list by a wide margin, Orange County has the widest choice of bottle sizes and the only two-range split, Professor Herb and Psycho Bunny are small strain-flavoured lines, and Eco-CBD is the only conventional booster shot.

Where this aisle sits in UK law

Three rules, and only one of them is about the liquid itself.

The cannabinoid limit is the one that matters. A CBD product may be sold in the UK when it holds no more than 1mg of controlled cannabinoids in the whole container, and that is a per-container test rather than a percentage or a per-millilitre figure. A 60ml bottle gets exactly the same 1mg allowance as a 10ml one. The percentage-of-THC number quoted on two of the pages ranking above this one, and repeated inside a third alongside the correct test as though the two were interchangeable, comes from hemp cultivation licensing. It describes what a farmer may grow under a Home Office licence and has never governed what a shop may sell.

Novel Foods is the rule that does not apply. It covers things that are eaten or drunk, so our gummies, oils and drinks fall inside it while vape liquid does not. If a listing implies an FSA authorisation covers its e-liquid, it is borrowing a badge from a different aisle.

The third is the nicotine regime already covered above, which sets the 10ml bottle cap that nicotine-free CBD liquid is not bound by.

Then the usual, which we will keep saying. Over-18s only. Not medicines, and nobody selling them may tell you what they do for a health condition, whatever you may have read on a page ranking above this one. One bottle here is not CBD

The Euphoria distillate shot at 90 percent is H4CBD, not CBD. H4CBD is hydrogenated CBD, made by adding hydrogen to CBD in a laboratory to produce a related but different molecule, so it is semi-synthetic and it is a different thing from everything else on this page.

It is a concentrate, so it is also the most potent item in the aisle by a wide margin, and it is sold because people report it as considerably stronger than CBD. We list it because our buyer decided to after seeing the full argument, and we flag it here rather than letting it sit unmarked between two isolate shots.

If you are shopping for CBD, the Eco-CBD shot is the booster you want. The rest of the H4CBD range sits in the hemp and hash aisle, where the copy explains what those products are at length.

The one thing never to do, and when to buy something else

Never put CBD oil in a vape tank. This is the most important sentence on the page. The oil sold for drops is suspended in a carrier such as MCT, which is made to be swallowed and absorbed under the tongue, and inhaling an oil of that kind is a genuinely bad idea rather than a merely ineffective one. E-liquid is a different formulation built for a coil. The two are not interchangeable in either direction, and the fact that competitors keep fielding this question in their FAQs tells you how often people try.

Beyond that, a few honest reasons to shop elsewhere on this site.

If you do not already own a vape, start with a pod kit rather than a bottle. Bottled juice assumes you have something to put it in and know how to fill it. Our CBD vapes aisle sells the kits, and buying a 60ml bottle before you own a device is a common and avoidable mistake.

If you do not vape at all, do not start for this. Inhaling anything carries risk that swallowing does not, and the same cannabinoid is in our CBD oil and CBD gummies aisles.

If you want a long-lasting purchase from one order, e-liquid is the wrong shape, because a tank goes through millilitres quickly. Oil measured in drops lasts far longer from a smaller bottle.

And if precision matters to you more than speed, drops under the tongue are measurable in a way that puffs are not. There is no meaningful way to count how much you have taken from a tank.
