One of the pages ranking for this product runs the heading How Much CBD Is In The Orange County Cali CBD E-liquid, answers with the figure 300mg, and never performs the division. A reader comes away thinking the 10ml is the beginner strength and the 50ml is the strong one, when the only difference is how long the bottle lasts.

In practice a millilitre is roughly one refill on a typical mouth to lung pod, so a fill carries about 30mg of CBD and a 10ml bottle gives you around ten of them. That is enough to learn whether you like a flavour and whether broad spectrum suits your palate, which is genuinely what this size is for.

What Cali actually means

Only one page in the entire ranking set explains the name, which is a shame, because it is the most interesting thing about the range. Cali is short for California. Each flavour is built around a cannabis strain associated with the West Coast, and the terpenes are chosen to bring that strain's aroma across into a nicotine free e-liquid.

That is why the flavour list reads Girl Scout Cookies and Sunset Sherbet rather than Cookie and Sherbet. The names are not decoration. Cherry OG Kush and Sunset Sherbet both have documented strain parentage, Chemdawg crossed with Lemon Thai and Girl Scout Cookie crossed with Pink Panties respectively, and the liquid is an attempt to render those aromas rather than an ordinary fruit flavouring with a cannabis word attached.

The practical consequence is a flavour that carries a herbal, slightly earthy layer underneath the sweetness. If your reference point is a standard fruit e-liquid, the Cali Range will taste greener than you expect on the first few draws. Some people go looking for exactly that. Others try one 10ml bottle and go back to fruit, which is precisely why the 10ml exists.

The flavour picker at 10ml, and the mint naming problem

Orange County publishes ten Cali flavours. Our picker shows eleven entries because our two supply routes label one of them differently: one calls it Star Dawg, the other Star Dawg Kush. It is the same liquid twice, not a bonus flavour.

There is a second naming problem specific to this bottle size, and no shop we checked mentions it. Two of the three retailers ranking for the 10ml list the mint flavour as Fresh Mint. The third lists it as Kush Mint, which is what our supply is labelled as. If you compare flavour lists across shops you will conclude there are eleven Cali flavours with two different mints. As far as we can establish there is one mint in the range and the shops disagree about its name, so do not order expecting both.

Why a 10ml bottle, and what it goes in

Against other brands, the trade is spectrum. Psycho Bunny's 300mg 30ml is gentler at roughly 10mg per millilitre and is isolate, so the flavour comes purely from flavouring. Professor Herb is isolate too. If you want a small bottle with terpenes and a strain character, this is the only one on the shelf that does it.

A percentage is not the legal test, and on a small bottle that matters

The rule a CBD product sold to a UK consumer has to satisfy is that the container holds no more than 1mg of controlled cannabinoids, counting THC, THCV and CBN together. Per container, whatever its size. It comes from the exempt product provisions under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Percentage figures are the wrong instrument, and this bottle shows why better than a large one does. One retailer ranking for this product states a THC content of one hundredth of one per cent.
