50mg in every millilitre, and the number the strength guides get wrong

2,500mg divided by 50ml is 50mg of CBD per millilitre. The 5 per cent on the label says the same thing a third way. Three figures, one concentration.

This matters because a widely read UK guide to high strength CBD vaping ranks this exact bottle first and then describes it as delivering roughly 250mg per millilitre. A reader working from that number would believe a single pod refill carried 250mg of CBD when it carries about 50mg. The same guide converts another brand's percentage figures into hundreds of milligrams per millilitre by the same route. Percentages and totals are not interchangeable with concentrations, and bottle size does the work people expect the milligram number to do.

The practical read is simpler. A millilitre is roughly one refill on a typical mouth to lung pod, so a fill of this liquid carries about 50mg of CBD and you work through it over a session. Coming from a 300mg 10ml bottle, which is 30mg per millilitre, this is not a leap. Coming from a 100mg starter bottle, it is.

When 5 per cent is the right step up, and when it is not

No product page in the ranking set discusses this at all, which is odd, because it is the only real question a 2500mg bottle raises. The guidance below is about concentration and hardware, not about how much CBD anyone should be having.

On top of the extract the range is infused with natural terpenes, the aromatic compounds that give a cannabis strain its smell. Retailer listings for this range name limonene, caryophyllene and myrcene among them, which are the terpenes behind citrus brightness, a peppery warmth and an earthy heaviness respectively. That is why the flavours read as strains rather than as sweets, and it is also why the range is not for everyone.

At 5 per cent all of that is turned up. If you have only vaped isolate liquid, where the flavour comes purely from the flavouring, the first few draws of a broad spectrum liquid at this concentration will taste greener than you expect. That settles as you get used to it, but it is worth going in knowing.

What a 50ml CBD container has to satisfy under UK law

The consumer test is that the container must hold no more than 1mg of controlled cannabinoids, meaning THC, THCV and CBN. Per container, not per dose, not per serving, and not as a percentage of anything. That limit comes from the exempt product provisions under the Misuse of Drugs Act, which is worth saying because at least one prominent guide attributes it to the Food Standards Agency. The FSA's remit over CBD is Novel Foods, and Novel Foods does not cover vapes at all.

The figure you will still see quoted instead is 0.2 per cent, and one of the pages ranking for this product publishes it. It is a cultivation rule that caps THC in the standing hemp crop grown under a Home Office licence, and it has nothing to do with what may be sold to a consumer.
