Both systems, both batteries, and why that matters

Most vape brands make you pick a side. A closed pod system ties you to one manufacturer's device. A 510 threaded cartridge fits the near-universal connector and works with any standard battery. Darwin is closed-only. Aztec runs both but does not sell you a bare battery. Iguana does all of it.

The 510 side is a 2ml cartridge that screws onto any standard 510 battery, and Iguana sells its own 510 battery pen if you do not already own one. The I-Puff side is a closed pod system: a starter kit with the device, refill pods sold separately, and crucially a replacement battery sold separately as well.

That last item is the one worth pausing on. In a category where the default answer to a dead battery is buying a whole new kit, a brand that sells the battery on its own is building for a device you keep. Given that the entire UK vape market was reorganised in June 2025 around exactly that principle, when single-use vapes were banned, a brand selling spare batteries for both of its systems is on the right side of the argument by some distance.

The practical upshot: if you already own a 510 battery, buy the cartridge alone. If you want the simplest possible experience, take the I-Puff kit. If either battery dies, replace the battery rather than the system.

1400 and 700 are the same strength

Here is a small thing that will stop you overpaying attention to the wrong number.

The brand's own guide states that UK cartridges typically hold seven hundred milligrams of cannabidiol per millilitre. Our 510 cartridge is 2ml and carries 1,400mg. Our I-Puff pod carries 700mg. Divide through and both come out at the same concentration. The larger figure is a larger cartridge, not a stronger one.

This is the second time we have had to write this sentence on a vape brand page, which tells you something about how the category labels itself. Darwin does the same thing a different way, where a kit total and a refill total count different numbers of pods. In both cases the headline number describes the size of the box rather than what reaches you.

The seven flavours run identically across all three cannabinoid lines, so unlike some brands you can move between the cartridge and the pod without losing your flavour. Four are strain names, Amnesia, Gelato, Gorilla Glue and Lemon Haze, and three are fruit, Mango, Red Berries and Strawberry.

A correction the brand owes its own readers

Iguana Smoke publishes a guide of roughly four thousand words on buying CBD vape cartridges in the UK. It is a serious piece of work, better structured than most retail content in this category, and it even includes a brand comparison table, which almost nobody in UK CBD bothers with. We want to be fair about that before saying the rest.

The rest is that the guide states UK law two different ways, in the same document, and neither is right.

In one place it says the law draws a clear line and that the final product must contain zero per cent THC. In another it says UK law is crystal clear and that products must contain less than a fifth of one per cent THC. Those two statements cannot both be true. Zero and less-than-a-fraction are different rules, and a document announcing twice that the law is clear should not be giving two answers.

Neither figure is the actual test. The UK consumer limit is one milligram of controlled cannabinoids in the container, regardless of the container's size, the concentration or the percentage. The percentage figure that circulates so widely governs how much THC is permitted in a standing hemp crop grown under a Home Office cultivation licence. It is a rule about a field, not about a cartridge.

There is a further problem with the zero per cent version specifically, and it lands on this brand's own products. Iguana's cartridges are full spectrum. Full spectrum means the extract deliberately retains the plant's other cannabinoids rather than stripping them out, and THC is one of them. A product cannot honestly be described as full spectrum and as containing no THC at all. Something has to give, and the thing that resolves it is a batch certificate rather than a sentence in a guide.

So our position on the three full-spectrum lines here is the same one we take across the site. We publish no THC figure for them, we have asked our distributor for the per-batch certificate, and we will update this page when it arrives. Until then, read any percentage attached to these products as a description of the extract and not as proof of anything.

And a number in that guide you should ignore entirely

The same guide contains a piece of arithmetic that deserves flagging on its own.

It tells readers that a cartridge at seven hundred milligrams per millilitre works out at roughly fifteen milligrams in a single two-second puff.

Set that against the guidance. The Food Standards Agency advises healthy adults to keep cannabidiol intake from food supplements to no more than ten milligrams a day, revised down from seventy milligrams in February 2023. The guide is describing a single inhalation that exceeds the regulator's figure for an entire day.

We are not going to argue about whether that arithmetic is correct, because it is beside the point. Presenting a per-puff figure at all invites someone to use a vape as a dosing instrument, and it is the fifth time in this run of brand research that we have found a UK CBD page publishing an intake number that does not match current guidance. The others quoted the superseded seventy milligram figure, one of them under directions for use, and one published dosing by body weight running to six hundred milligrams a day.

If you want a number for yourself, take the regulator's and speak to a pharmacist. Do not take it from a page selling you the cartridge.

What we can and cannot verify about the brand

Iguana Smoke is described in independent write-ups as a Spanish brand built around street art, underground music and a community ethos, and the contact details on its UK site are consistent with that: a British phone number alongside a Spanish mobile.

What the site does not state is where the products are manufactured. There is no factory, no address beyond contact numbers, and no founding date. The brand says all of its products are tested by third-party laboratories and keeps a certificate link in its navigation, but no certificate is reachable from the homepage itself.

On our running comparison of what brands actually publish, that places Iguana in the middle. Orange County puts batch certificates on its product pages so you can open one before buying. Professor Herb links to a folder held elsewhere. Darwin will send results if you ask. Iguana says testing happens and puts a link in the menu. Euphoria, Multitrance and Vitality publish nothing at all.

Two scope notes. First, this brand sells considerably more than we list: hemp blends, hemp hash, pre-rolls, CBD flower and a large accessories range. We carry the vape lines only. Second, some retailers group Iguana together with H4CBD products in a single collection. None of the five lines we stock is H4CBD. They are cannabidiol, three of them full spectrum, and if you arrived here expecting a semi-synthetic cannabinoid you will not find one on this shelf.

How Iguana compares with the other vape brands we stock

Iguana occupies a genuinely distinct position on our vape shelf, and it is not the obvious one.

Against Darwin, it is spectrum and hardware. Darwin is isolate throughout and closed-system only, with sixty-five flavour variants and a cannabigerol blend nobody else does. Iguana is full spectrum, runs both systems, and sells spare batteries for each. If you want the full plant profile in a vape, Darwin cannot help you and Iguana can.

Against Aztec, the two are closest. Both run 510 cartridges and a closed pod system, both do full spectrum. Aztec has far more flavours, forty-nine vape variants against Iguana's seven. Iguana has the separately sold batteries and a much simpler range to navigate.

Against Orange County, it is documentation. Orange County publishes certificates you can read before you buy and Iguana does not. If that is what decides your purchase, the comparison is not close.

Against Professor Herb and Euphoria, the distinction is what is in the pod. Both of those run H4CBD in their vape ranges, which is a semi-synthetic cannabinoid rather than a plant one. Iguana does not, at least in the lines we carry.

Where Iguana is strong, and where it is not

Strong: hardware sense. Both systems, both batteries sold separately, and a 510 cartridge that does not lock you to their device. Nothing else on our vape shelf gives you that much freedom to keep what you already own.

Also strong: full spectrum in a simple range. Seven flavours across three lines is easy to navigate, and the strain-named options are genuinely distinct from the fruit ones rather than being the same liquid with different labels.

Also strong, and it deserves saying: the brand publishes real content, including a comparison table of the kind almost nobody in UK CBD produces. The problem is what is in it, not that it exists.

Weaker: the legal content in that guide, comprehensively. Two contradictory statements of the law, neither correct, and a per-puff figure that should not be published at all.

Weaker: no certificate reachable without hunting, and no manufacturing location disclosed anywhere.

Weaker: seven flavours is a small menu next to Aztec's forty-nine or Darwin's sixty-five variants, and there is no e-liquid at all if you use a refillable tank.

Weaker: everything reaches us through a single distributor.

Who should not buy this: anyone who wants to read a certificate before ordering, because Orange County publishes them and this brand does not. Anyone who wants a wide flavour choice, where Aztec and Darwin both go far deeper. And anyone specifically avoiding full spectrum while the THC question is unresolved should take an isolate line instead, which on this site means Darwin or Hempthy.

Where Iguana sits under UK law

The consumer test in the UK is one milligram of controlled cannabinoids in the container. Not a percentage, not per puff, not per millilitre. This bears repeating on this brand's page because the brand's own guide gives two different percentages and neither of them is this.

The percentage figure in general circulation is a cultivation rule capping THC in a standing hemp crop grown under a Home Office licence. It has never governed what may be sold to a person, and repeating it as though it were a consumer limit is the most common error in UK CBD writing.

Full spectrum is the grade where that per-container test actually bites, because it is the one that deliberately keeps the other cannabinoids in. Three of our five Iguana lines are full spectrum, and they are on our open list for per-batch certificates. We will not print a THC figure for them until we hold one.

Two further points. Vapes sit outside the Novel Foods regime entirely, so nothing here is Novel Foods authorised in either direction, and it should not be described as such. And single-use vapes have been unlawful to sell in the UK since 1 June 2025: everything on this page is a rechargeable, refillable or replaceable-pod system, which is the compliant format. Buying Iguana Smoke in the UK

Only two independent UK retailers rank meaningfully for this brand, and most of the visible results belong to the company itself. That makes an independent account of it genuinely scarce.

What we have added: an explanation of why selling both systems and both batteries separately is the most useful thing about this brand, a note that its two headline numbers are the same concentration in different volumes, a correction to the law as stated twice in the brand's own guide, and a flag on a per-puff dosing figure that exceeds the regulator's daily guidance. We have also credited the guide for the thing it does well, because a page that only attacks is not worth reading either.
