Pod system or refill pod, and why every listing muddles them

Search this product and you will find it sold as a Pod System, as a Prefilled POD, and as a Replacement POD, sometimes by shops using the same photograph. One retailer describes it as a rechargeable vape pen and never confirms whether a battery ships with it. Another is honest that it is selling the pod alone, then names no compatible device, which leaves you holding a pod with nothing to put it in.

We keep the two apart deliberately. This page is the pod system, filed under pod kits. Buying the wrong one is the most common mistake in this corner of CBD vaping.

That is retailer published rather than brand published, and Orange County itself still does not put a contents list on its own pages, so we report it as sourced rather than as our own specification.

750mg in 1ml is about 75 per cent CBD

This is the number that explains what distillate is for, and no page ranking for this product does the arithmetic. Seven hundred and fifty milligrams in a single millilitre is roughly 75 per cent CBD by volume.

Set that against bottled CBD e-liquid and the gap is enormous. A 3 per cent e-liquid carries 30mg in a millilitre. A 5 per cent one carries 50mg. This pod carries 750mg in the same millilitre, which is fifteen to twenty five times the concentration. That is the whole reason the format exists: it is not a stronger version of e-liquid, it is a different thing entirely.

In practice that means a pod lasts far longer than the millilitre suggests, at around a thousand puffs, and that each draw carries substantially more CBD than a draw on a pod filled with e-liquid. It also means the drawing style matters. This is a mouth to lung format, taken slowly, and treating it like a sub ohm device will not go well.

The flavours come from natural terpenes blended into the distillate rather than from confectionery flavourings alone, which is why the strain named ones carry a herbal edge. Zkittlez and Lemonade are the brightest, Wedding Cake and Blueberry Muffin the sweetest, and Alien OG the most earthy.

Distillate does not behave like e-liquid

A pod this concentrated is thick, and thickness is the source of nearly every complaint people have about the format. Only one page in the whole ranking set mentions it.

In cold weather CBD distillate can stiffen, cloud, or crystallise. It looks alarming and it is normal. Warming the pod in a pocket or a closed hand for a few minutes brings it back, and the reason it happens is simply that a 75 per cent solution has very little carrier liquid in it to keep everything moving.

Two habits follow from that. Take slow, gentle draws rather than hard ones, because thick distillate wicks more slowly than e-liquid and a hard pull on a cool pod can produce a dry, burnt taste from the coil rather than more vapour. And when a pod has been sitting unused, let it stand upright for a minute before the first draw so the distillate settles onto the coil.

Storage follows the same logic. Upright, out of direct sun, at room temperature. A pod left in a cold car overnight will need warming before it behaves.

How it compares with the other CBD pod kits we stock

Where a rechargeable pod sits after the disposable ban

Single use vapes, CBD disposables included, have been banned in the UK since 1 June 2025 under the Environmental Protection (Single-use Vapes) Regulations 2024. A rechargeable device taking replaceable pods is the compliant format that replaced them, and it is the reason this style of product now dominates CBD vaping.

On cannabinoid content, the test a CBD product sold to a UK consumer must satisfy is that the container holds no more than 1mg of controlled cannabinoids in total, counting THC, THCV and CBN. Broad spectrum distillate has the THC removed during processing, which is the mechanism that keeps a pod inside the limit.

The best page in this ranking set states 0 per cent THC and links a certificate of analysis, which is more than most manage, and it still does not state the actual test. A percentage or a rounded zero is a measurement. The limit is a number in law, and the two are not the same sentence.

Who should skip this one

If you have never vaped CBD, roughly 75 per cent is a steep place to begin. A draw here carries far more than a draw on a bottled e-liquid, and you will learn more about what suits you from a low strength pod kit or a 10ml bottle first.

If you vape a sub ohm device and want clouds, this is the wrong format entirely. It is a slow, mouth to lung pod and pulling hard on it produces a burnt taste rather than vapour. And if you keep your vape in a cold car or a coat pocket outdoors all winter, expect to warm the pod before most sessions, which some people find more bother than it is worth.
