What comes in the box

A starter pack is the only Iguana Smoke purchase that works on its own. The pods will not work without the device and the device is not sold with the cartridges, so if you are buying into this range from nothing, this is the box to buy.

Two items are inside: the rechargeable I-Puff battery and a single 1ml prefilled pod. The pod clicks in, the battery charges over USB-C, and there is no coil to fit, no liquid to pour and no setting to choose.

There is one specification nobody in the supply chain publishes, and we are not going to invent it. No party we could find, including the manufacturer, states the battery capacity in mAh. If battery life is the thing that decides your purchase, ask us before ordering and we will get the figure from the supplier rather than guess at it.

Puff count is published, but inconsistently. The brand says a 1ml pod gives roughly 300 to 400 draws, and a retailer selling the same pod says up to 300. Work on the lower number. Draw length changes the result more than any published figure allows for, and a long hard pull on a ceramic coil empties a pod much faster than a short one.

This is what replaced the CBD disposable

Single-use vapes became unlawful to sell or supply across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland on 1 June 2025, under the Environmental Protection (Single-use Vapes) Regulations 2024. The ban is about the device, not what is inside it, so it caught CBD disposables exactly as it caught nicotine ones.

That is worth naming precisely, because the guides explaining this rarely do. One of the better ban explainers we read calls it only a new UK regulation and never cites the instrument at all.

The test the regulations apply is simple. A vape is caught if it can be neither refilled nor recharged. A device with a charging port and a replaceable pod fails both halves of that test and is therefore lawful. The I-Puff has a USB-C port and a pod that clicks out, which is why it sits on the right side of the line and why kits like it multiplied in the months after the ban.

The practical consequence for you is that the disposable habit changes shape rather than ending. You buy the device once, then buy pods. The device is the part you keep, and the fact that you keep it is the entire point of the legislation.

How this compares with the formats around it

Four formats sit next to each other in the CBD vape aisle and the differences are practical rather than technical. Here they are with the products we actually stock named, rather than in the abstract.

The pod kit is the closest thing to the old disposable experience: no assembly, no liquid handling, click and draw. The 510 cartridge is the open alternative, which trades that simplicity for freedom to mix hardware across brands. Bottled e-liquid in a refillable device is the most flexible of the lot and the most work. And the single-use disposable is on the list only to be crossed off it.

About that 70mg figure

The most thorough page ranking for post-ban CBD pod kits tells its readers that the Food Standards Agency recommends healthy adults take no more than 70mg of CBD a day. That figure is out of date, and it is being applied to the wrong kind of product.

The FSA revised its precautionary advice down to 10mg a day, announced on 12 October 2023 after advice from the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs. Seventy was the previous number and it has not been the current one for well over two years.

The second problem is more fundamental. That advice concerns CBD consumed in food supplements, which is the regime the FSA administers through Novel Foods. Vapes are not food. They sit outside Novel Foods entirely, which is why no CBD vape appears on the FSA public list and why no vape should be expected to.

We are not going to substitute our own number for theirs, because telling you how much to take would be a dosage instruction and that is not something a retailer should be handing out. What we can do is describe the advice accurately, say which products it applies to, and let you take it from there.

Choosing which pod comes in your kit

The kit ships with one pod and you choose the flavour, so the decision matters more here than on a repeat purchase.

The seven profiles are terpene-led and named after cannabis strains, which is a genuinely different experience from a sweet nicotine e-liquid. Four of them taste of the plant. Three are conventional fruit flavours. If this is your first CBD vape, start in the fruit group: the strain profiles are the ones people either love immediately or cannot get on with, and a starter kit is a poor place to find out you are in the second group.

Everything in the range was in stock as this page was written, so the choice is open.

Charging it, and getting the first pod right

Charge it fully before the first use. Devices sit in warehouses for months and a part-charged battery gives a weak first draw that people routinely mistake for a faulty pod.

Then take short draws. Cannabinoid distillate is thick, and a ceramic coil pushed hard on a long pull will scorch the liquid rather than vaporise it. Three or four seconds is plenty, and the difference in flavour between a short draw and a long one on this kind of hardware is not subtle.

Store the device upright when you can. A pod left on its side for days lets the distillate settle into the airway, and the first draw afterwards is unpleasant even though nothing is actually wrong.

Cold weather thickens the fill noticeably. If the draw feels blocked on a winter morning, warm the device in a pocket for a few minutes before deciding something has failed. That fixes it far more often than not.

What the lab report covers

Iguana Smoke publishes one lab report that covers its cartridges and the I-Puff line together, so it applies to the pod in this kit. We read the document and set out the full cannabinoid table on the cartridge page rather than repeating it here.

Three things from it are worth carrying across. Delta-9 and delta-8 THC are both reported as not detected below a 0.01 per cent limit. CBN is detected at 0.23 per cent, and CBN counts as a controlled cannabinoid in UK law alongside THC and THCV. And the batch number field on the report reads NA, so it describes a product line rather than the specific pod that would arrive in your order.

The report also assays CBD at just under forty per cent where the product is advertised at seventy. We have asked our distributor to explain that and we will publish the answer.

The rule that governs all of this is a limit of one milligram of controlled cannabinoids per container, not a percentage and not a per-dose figure. The benchmark page in this category declines to name that threshold at all, saying only that full spectrum products hold trace THC under the legal limit. We would rather tell you what the limit is and be straight about what we cannot yet confirm.

Who should buy something else

If you already own an I-Puff device, do not buy this kit. You need pods, and buying a second battery you do not need is the most common mistake in this part of the range.

If you face workplace or roadside drug testing, choose a broad spectrum or isolate CBD vape instead. The published report shows no THC detected, but it carries no batch number and a screening test does not read marketing copy. Our guide on testing is linked below.

If you want hardware you can mix across brands, a closed pod system is the wrong purchase by design. The pods fit this device and nothing else, and if the line is discontinued the battery has no future. A 510 cartridge and a standard battery avoid that entirely.
