Replacement pods for the Darwin CBD kit
This is a rechargeable device, so when the CBD runs out you replace the pod rather than the whole kit. These are the Darwin CBD refills that fit it.
The Darwin CBD+CBG 1800mg Prefilled Pod Kit is a rechargeable UK-made CBD vape kit that arrives with four prefilled 2ml pods, each holding 450mg of CBD and CBG, which is where the 1,800mg total comes from. It runs a 500mAh battery, a mesh coil and USB-C charging, and Darwin rates it at up to 2,500 puffs. Every retailer selling it puts CBG in the product title, and not one of the four pages we tore down says what CBG is. That seems like the wrong place to start, so this page starts there.
CBG, and why it is on the label at all
CBG stands for cannabigerol. It is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid, like CBD, and it is the compound the hemp plant produces first: as the plant matures, most of its CBG converts into the acids that become CBD and THC. That is why it is sometimes described as the parent cannabinoid, and it is also why there is so little of it left in a mature crop.
That scarcity is the practical point. A mature hemp plant might hold a fraction of a per cent CBG by weight, so extracting a usable quantity takes far more plant material than CBD does. When a brand puts CBG on a label it is telling you something about the composition of the extract, not adding a marketing word for free.
What we are not going to tell you is what CBG will do for you. Several pages selling this exact kit describe the blend as relaxing or as mind and body support. We stock 36 brands and have no interest in repeating claims we cannot stand behind. CBG is a second cannabinoid in the pod alongside CBD, it is not intoxicating, and the research on it in humans is early. That is the honest position.
One practical note that does matter: CBG is not one of the cannabinoids controlled under UK law. The 1mg per container rule covers THC, THCV and CBN. CBG sits outside it, the same way CBD does.

The kit, pod by pod
This is a starter kit rather than a bare device. The battery is a 500mAh unit with a mesh coil, which is a wider heating surface than the older wire coils and is the main reason the draw is smoother than a first-generation pod system.
Charging is USB-C. Worth knowing before it arrives: Darwin does not include the cable, which the ranking pages mention in passing and buyers regularly miss.
The pods are prefilled and sealed at 2ml each. Four of them makes 8ml of liquid in total and 1,800mg of cannabinoids, and they are the same pods sold separately as replacements once the kit ones are spent. Nothing here is a disposable: the battery is designed to outlive several rounds of pods.
Two things about the mesh coil are worth knowing in advance. A mesh element heats a broader area of liquid at once, which is what gives the draw its evenness, but it also warms up faster, so the first pull after the device has sat unused all night tends to be the strongest of the day. And because a mesh coil holds more liquid against it, a pod that has been carried loose in a warm pocket can weep slightly at the airway. Standing the device upright rather than laying it flat solves most of that.
Switching flavours mid-kit is easy but not instant. The pod carries the flavour, so a fresh pod is a clean start in principle, but the mouthpiece and airway hold enough of the previous one that the first few draws will read as a blend. Kiwi Passionfruit Guava after Strawberry Watermelon Bubblegum is not a fair test of either.

How much CBD you are actually getting per puff
One retailer states 0.66mg of CBD per puff and shows no working, which is a shame, because the working is the useful part.
Do it yourself: 1,800mg of cannabinoids across a rated 2,500 puffs comes to roughly 0.72mg a puff. Per pod, 450mg across about 625 puffs gives the same answer. The rating assumes short draws of a second or two, so a longer inhale style will pull more per puff and fewer puffs from the pod. Either way you are in fractions of a milligram at a time, which is a very different rhythm from an oil where a single dropper might hold 20mg.
The number is worth knowing for pacing rather than for dosing. Inhaled CBD is not comparable to a swallowed dose and we are not going to give you a target, because there is no authoritative one for vaping. What the arithmetic does tell you is that this kit is designed for steady use across days rather than a large amount at once.
Isolate or broad spectrum, and why the answer is contested
Here is something none of the pages selling this kit have noticed. Two of the deepest listings for it disagree about what is actually in the pod. One describes the extract as broad spectrum with CBG. The other states plainly that it is CBD isolate. Our own supplier data records isolate.
That is not a trivial difference. Isolate means the extract is refined until only the named cannabinoids remain, so an isolate pod with added CBG contains CBD, CBG and nothing else from the plant. Broad spectrum keeps a wider set of hemp compounds and terpenes while removing THC. If you are choosing a product specifically because you want nothing else carried over, the two answers point in opposite directions.
We list this kit as isolate with CBG, which is what the supplier records and what the more specific of the two retailers states. If you need certainty on this point rather than a best reading, ask us before you order and we will go back to the batch documentation rather than guess.
All twelve flavours, and the one thing this range is missing
Darwin's CBG line runs twelve flavours, and it is worth saying up front that they are all sweet or fruit-led. There is no mint, no menthol and no tobacco option anywhere in the range. Only Watermelon Ice has any cooling to it at all.
That is a genuine difference from Darwin's other lines. The 300mg pod kit and the 60ml bottled juice both carry Cool Mint and several menthol blends. If a cool finish is what you actually want from a vape, this is not the Darwin product to buy, and no listing for it says so.
The rest divides cleanly into berry blends, tropical blends and lemonades. The lemonades are the lightest in the range and the sweet-shop profiles are the heaviest.
| Flavour | What to expect | Availability |
|---|---|---|
| Berry Lemonade | Mixed berries over a light lemonade base, one of the easiest here | In stock |
| Blackcurrant Blue Raspberry | Deep blackcurrant against sharp blue raspberry | Out of stock |
| Blue Tropic | Blue raspberry on a tropical base, sweet and rounded | In stock |
| Blueberry Cherry Cranberry | Three dark berries, tart at the finish | In stock |
| Cherry Lime | Sweet cherry cut with lime, the sharpest of the fruit blends | In stock |
| Fruit Punch | Mixed fruit cup rather than any single fruit | In stock |
| Kiwi Passionfruit Guava | The most tropical of the twelve, tangy rather than sugary | In stock |
| Pink Lemonade | Citrus and berry together, the lightest in the range | In stock |
| Raspberry Pineapple | Tart raspberry against sweet pineapple | In stock |
| Strawberry Watermelon Bubblegum | Sweet shop flavour, the heaviest of the twelve | In stock |
| Sweet Strawberry | Strawberry confectionery rather than fresh fruit | In stock |
| Watermelon Ice | Watermelon with a cool finish, the only cooled option | In stock |
Where it sits in the Darwin range
Darwin makes four things we stock, and they are easy to muddle because three of them are pods. This kit is the top of the range: the most cannabinoids, the only one with CBG, and the only one supplied with four pods.
Below it, the 300mg kit is the entry point and the one to start with if CBD vaping is new to you. The two twin-pack pod listings are refills rather than kits, so they need a device you already own. The 60ml bottle is a different thing entirely, a shortfill liquid for a refillable tank rather than anything that fits these pods.
On compatibility, the good news is that Darwin's CBG twin pack fits both this kit and the 300mg pod system, so a single refill line covers either device. The 600mg twin pack is a separate line and its compatibility is stated less consistently across listings, so check that one against your device before ordering rather than assuming the two refill packs are interchangeable.
| Darwin product | Cannabinoids | Format | Flavours | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Darwin CBD+CBG 1800mg Prefilled Pod Kit | 1,800mg CBD with CBG | Kit with four 2ml pods | 12 | The full range, if you want CBG and a device together |
| Darwin CBD 300mg Prefilled Pod Kit | 300mg CBD | Kit with pods | 11 | First-time CBD vapers, including menthol options |
| Darwin CBD+CBG 900mg 2 x 450mg Prefilled Pods | 900mg CBD with CBG | Two refill pods, no device | 12 | Restocking a kit you already own |
| Darwin CBD 600mg 2 x 300mg Prefilled Pod | 600mg CBD | Two refill pods, no device | 11 | Restocking the 300mg kit |
| Darwin CBD 60ml Vape Juice 3000mg | 3,000mg CBD | Bottled shortfill liquid | 19 | Refillable tanks and pod kits, not this device |
The law, the disposable ban and what the 1mg rule covers
The rule that governs whether a CBD product may be sold to a UK consumer is that it must contain no more than 1mg of controlled cannabinoids, meaning THC, THCV and CBN, in the container. It is a fixed quantity, not a percentage, and it does not scale with how large the product is. CBD and CBG are not on that controlled list.
One retailer selling this kit publishes the THC figure as a percentage. Percentages come from hemp cultivation rules, which cap the THC in the standing crop under a Home Office licence and have nothing to do with retail. A percentage that sounds reassuringly small is not the test.
Another goes further and tells you to take no more than 105 puffs a day to stay below 70mg. That figure has two problems. The FSA revised its advice for healthy adults down to 10mg a day in February 2023, so 70mg is superseded, and that advice has always been about CBD in food supplements rather than anything inhaled. There is no official daily puff count for a CBD vape and we are not going to invent one.
On the disposable ban: single-use vapes, CBD disposables included, have been banned in the UK since 1 June 2025 under the Environmental Protection (Single-use Vapes) Regulations 2024. A rechargeable battery with replaceable pods is the compliant format, which is what this kit is. Vapes also sit outside the FSA Novel Foods regime, so no Novel Foods authorisation applies. Everything on this site is 18+ only.
Who should not buy this kit
If you want a cool or minty vape, buy something else in the Darwin range. Twelve flavours and only one of them has any cooling, which is a real limitation that no listing for this kit admits to.
If you already own a Darwin device, you probably want refill pods rather than another battery. The kit exists to get you started, and buying a second one just to change flavour leaves you with a spare battery you did not need.
If you specifically want the widest set of hemp compounds, an isolate blend is by definition not that, and a broad spectrum pod system is the better fit. And if you are brand new to CBD, the 300mg kit is the more sensible starting point. There is nothing to lose by beginning lower and working up.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the CBG in the Darwin 1800mg pod kit?
- CBG is cannabigerol, a non-intoxicating cannabinoid that hemp produces early in its growth and mostly converts into other cannabinoids as it matures. Because so little survives in a mature crop it takes considerably more plant material to extract than CBD does. It is not one of the cannabinoids controlled under UK law.
- How many pods come in the Darwin CBD+CBG 1800mg kit?
- The 1,800mg total is made up of four prefilled 2ml pods at 450mg each, which works out at 8ml of liquid in the kit. They are the same pods Darwin sells separately as replacements, so restocking does not mean buying another battery.
- How much CBD is in one puff from this Darwin kit?
- Roughly 0.72mg, working from 1,800mg spread across the rated 2,500 puffs. That rating assumes short draws of a second or two, so a longer inhale style pulls more per puff and gets fewer puffs from a pod. Use it for pacing rather than as a dose.
- Is the Darwin CBG pod kit isolate or broad spectrum?
- Our supplier data records CBD isolate with CBG added, and that is how we list it. Be aware that retailers contradict each other on this point, with at least one describing the same kit as broad spectrum. If the distinction matters to your purchase, ask us and we will check the batch documentation rather than estimate.
- Do any Darwin CBG flavours have menthol or mint in them?
- No. All twelve are sweet or fruit-led, and only Watermelon Ice has any cooling to it. Darwin's plain CBD lines do carry Cool Mint and several menthol blends, so if a cool finish is what you want, look at the 300mg pod kit or the 60ml bottled juice instead.
- Does the Darwin 1800mg pod kit come with a USB-C cable?
- No. The device charges over USB-C but Darwin does not supply the cable in the kit, which is easy to miss in the listings. Any standard USB-C cable will charge it, so most people already have one.
- Is this kit affected by the UK ban on single-use vapes?
- No. The ban that took effect on 1 June 2025 covers single-use disposable devices. This kit has a rechargeable battery and replaceable pods, which is exactly the format the regulations point buyers towards, and it is a large part of why prefilled pod systems have grown since the ban.
- Can I use Darwin CBG pods in a different brand of pod device?
- No. Pod systems are closed by design and each brand cuts its pods for its own battery, so an Aztec, Orange County or Hurb device will not take these. Within Darwin's own range the CBG twin pack does fit both this kit and the 300mg pod system, which makes restocking simpler than it looks.
