Which devices these pods fit

These are Darwin's twin-pack refills for its pod range. Two retailers state the compatibility plainly, which is two more than usually bother: they fit both the Darwin CBD 300mg pod system and the Darwin CBD+CBG 1800mg pod kit. If you own either device, this is the correct refill.

They do not fit anything else. Pod systems are closed by design, so an Aztec, Orange County or Hurb device will not take a Darwin pod and a Darwin device will not take theirs. It is worth saying because the pods look broadly similar in a photograph and the packaging does not shout about it.

Darwin's other refill line, the 600mg twin pack, fits the same two devices, so the choice between them is about what you want rather than about what will physically go in. That pack is plain CBD isolate at roughly 150mg per millilitre and keeps four menthol flavours; these CBG pods run at around 225mg and have none.

The numbers on this pack, and the ones that do not add up

Each pod holds 450mg in 2ml. That works out at about 225mg of cannabinoids per millilitre, or roughly 22 to 23 per cent by weight. Worth doing yourself, because one page ranking for these pods publishes the concentration as 15 per cent on the same listing that states 450mg and 2ml. Those two figures cannot both be right.

The puff rating is 1,200 across the pack, so about 600 a pod. Cross-check it against the 1800mg kit, which carries four of the same pods and is rated at 2,500 puffs, or about 625 each. Close enough to be consistent. One listing visible in search results claims 300 puffs a pod, which is half of what every other source says, and is the sort of figure that gets copied between shops without anyone checking.

None of these ratings are precise. They assume short draws of a second or two, so if you take longer pulls you will get fewer, larger puffs from the same liquid. Use the numbers to compare products, not to plan a week.

For what it is worth as a like-for-like: 450mg across roughly 600 puffs is around 0.75mg of cannabinoids a puff, which is in the same territory as the 1800mg kit and a fraction of what a single dropper of CBD oil would hold. Inhaled and swallowed CBD are not interchangeable, so that comparison is about scale rather than equivalence.

All twelve flavours, ranked by how sweet they land

Darwin's CBG line runs twelve flavours and, unusually for the brand, not one of them is a mint or a menthol. Only Watermelon Ice has any cool to it. If you came here from Darwin's plain CBD pods expecting Cool Mint or one of the menthol mixes, they exist on that line and not on this one.

The useful way to sort the rest is by weight rather than by fruit. The lemonades are the lightest things in the range and the easiest to vape for a long stretch. The berry blends sit in the middle. The confectionery profiles are heavy and read as sweet-shop rather than fruit, which some people love and some find cloying by the second pod.

The table below runs from lightest to heaviest so you can place yourself on it rather than guessing from a name.

Getting to the end of a mesh pod

A mesh coil behaves differently at the end of its life from the ceramic elements used in distillate pods, and knowing the difference saves you throwing a pod away early.

Mesh holds liquid across a wide flat surface, so it keeps producing decent vapour almost until the pod is genuinely dry. What changes first is the top of the flavour. A citrus profile stops reading as citrus and flattens into general sweetness, and the draw gets faintly warm. That is your signal, and there is usually a little left at that point.

What you should not do is chase it. Once the pod is dry the mesh has nothing to cool it, and a dry hit off a mesh coil is sharper and more unpleasant than off a wire coil. It does no lasting harm to the device, since the coil goes in the bin with the pod, but it will put you off the flavour for a while.

Storage matters more with these than with a tank. Standing the pod upright keeps the liquid against the wick rather than pooling at the mouthpiece end, and a pod carried loose in a warm pocket for a day can weep slightly at the airway. Neither is a fault, both are avoidable.

The legal position on a refill pod

Refill pods sit under exactly the same rule as any other CBD product sold to a UK consumer: no more than 1mg of controlled cannabinoids, meaning THC, THCV and CBN, in the container. It is a fixed quantity rather than a percentage, and it does not scale with the size of the pack. CBD and CBG are not on the controlled list.

The point that catches people out is that percentages are not the test at all. A percentage figure quoted on a CBD listing comes from hemp cultivation rules, which cap what a licensed grower's standing crop may contain. It governs a field, not a shop shelf. The page ranking first for these pods states no THC figure of any kind, in either form.

You will also see a maximum daily intake quoted on some listings for this exact product, expressed as a number of puffs. Ignore it. The FSA figure it is derived from was revised down in February 2023 and has always applied to CBD in food supplements rather than to anything inhaled. Vapes sit outside the Novel Foods regime entirely, so no authorised intake figure exists for them.

Refills also have nothing to fear from the single-use vape ban, which took effect on 1 June 2025 and covers disposable devices. A replaceable pod in a rechargeable battery is the format the regulations point towards. Everything on this site is 18+ only.

Who should not buy this twin pack

If you do not already own a Darwin pod device, this is the wrong listing. There is no battery in the pack. Start with the 300mg pod kit if you are new to CBD vaping, or the 1800mg kit if you want the CBG blend and the fuller pod count together.

If you own an Aztec, Orange County or Hurb device, nothing here will fit it, and no adapter exists that would change that.

If a cool or minty vape is what you are after, this line does not have one, and Watermelon Ice is as close as it gets. And if you specifically want a broader range of hemp compounds, an isolate blend with added CBG is not that. A broad spectrum pod is the better match.
