Aztec CBD Premium CBD Pods 4000mg 2x2ml are the prefilled refills for the Aztec pod system: two sealed 2ml pods holding 2,000mg of broad spectrum CBD distillate each, which is where the 4,000mg on the label comes from. They are not a standalone vape and they will not fit anything else, a point almost every listing for them leaves out. Each pod is filled with roughly 95 per cent CBD distillate and 5 per cent strain-specific terpenes, comes in one of fifteen profiles named after cannabis strains, and is rated at up to 2,000 puffs. If nobody has explained to you what the indica and sativa labels on these pods actually mean, that section is further down and it is the honest answer rather than the marketing one.
What is inside the pod
Aztec publishes the formulation as roughly 95 per cent CBD distillate and 5 per cent strain-specific terpenes, with no additives and no cutting agents. That figure appears on exactly one page in the entire ranking set for this product, which is a shame, because it is the number that explains everything else about how these behave.
There is no propylene glycol and no vegetable glycerin. A conventional vape liquid is mostly those two, thinned enough for a cotton wick to draw it up to the coil. Distillate at this concentration is thick and does not wick, so each pod uses a ceramic element that heats it directly, and the device runs a short preheat cycle before the first draw of the day.
The pods arrive sealed and prefilled. There is no filling step, no measuring and no leftover bottle to store.

Indica, sativa and hybrid on a pod with no THC in it
Aztec sorts the fifteen pods into indica, sativa and hybrid, and so do a couple of the shops selling them. Here is the part none of them say out loud: those categories describe the strain the terpene blend is modelled on, not what the pod will do to you.
The indica and sativa distinction, whatever you think of it, is talked about in terms of effect because of THC. Broad spectrum extract has the THC removed during processing. What carries across into the pod is the aroma and flavour signature, which is genuinely different strain to strain, and that is the whole of it. We are not going to tell you a sativa pod will make you alert, because that is a claim we cannot make and would not stand behind.
There is a small piece of evidence for exactly how loose the labelling is. Two UK stockists classify all fifteen, they agree on fourteen, and they contradict each other on Grape Fruit, one filing it as sativa and the other as indica. If the label meant something concrete, that would not happen.
So use the table below the way you would use a flavour guide. The strain type column is recorded because it is on the packaging and people ask, not because it predicts anything.
| Pod flavour | Strain type as labelled | What to expect on the draw |
|---|---|---|
| Blue Dream | Hybrid | Blueberry over a soft haze sweetness, one of the gentlest here |
| Blueberry Kush | Hybrid | Darker and jammier than Blue Dream, earthy underneath |
| Buddha Haze | Sativa | Bright citrus with an incense-like edge behind it |
| Fruit Punch | Sativa | Mixed fruit rather than one fruit, the sweetest profile |
| Gorilla Glue | Hybrid | Pine and diesel over earth, the most divisive of the fifteen |
| Grape Fruit | Disputed, listed as both | Sharp pink grapefruit, tart rather than sweet |
| Mango Kush | Hybrid | Ripe tropical mango on a heavier earthy base |
| Pineapple Kush | Hybrid | Sweet pineapple, cleaner and lighter than Mango Kush |
| Raspberry Kush | Hybrid | Tart raspberry with the same earthy Kush undertone |
| Sherbet OG | Indica | Creamy sweet citrus, closer to a dessert than a fruit |
| Strawberry Ice | Sativa | Strawberry with a cooling finish, the only cooled pod |
| Super Lemon Haze | Sativa | Zesty lemon, the brightest profile in the range |
| Watermelon Gelato | Indica | Sweet watermelon with a creamy finish |
| White Widow | Hybrid | Earthy and peppery, the most traditionally hemp-tasting pod |
| Zkittlez | Indica | Mixed fruit confectionery, sweet and instantly recognisable |
What these fit, and the mistake people make
These pods are built for the Aztec CBD pod system and nothing else. They are magnetic, not threaded, and they are specifically not compatible with a 510 thread battery, which is the most common vape connection in the world and therefore the most common way to end up with something that does not fit.
That warning appears on one page out of the whole ranking set. If you already own a 510 battery and a cartridge habit, these are not the refill you want.
They also will not fit the Orange County, Darwin or Hurb pod devices we stock. Pod systems are closed by design; each brand's pod is cut for its own battery. If you are shopping for a refill, match it to the device you actually own rather than to the brand of CBD you like.
Knowing when a pod is finished
A prefilled pod gives you fewer signals than a tank does, because you cannot see the level as clearly through a small window of thick distillate. The rated 2,000 puffs is a guide, not a countdown, and a longer draw style will get there sooner.
In practice the flavour goes before the vapour does. A pod on its last stretch tastes flatter and slightly toasted, and the terpene brightness that made Super Lemon Haze recognisable is the first thing to disappear. Once you are chasing that with harder draws, the pod is done.
Do not keep pulling on a pod that has stopped producing vapour. There is nothing left for the ceramic element to heat, and a dry burn tastes unpleasant enough that most people only do it once.
Compared with the other prefilled CBD pods we stock
A brand site can tell you its own pod is good. It cannot tell you how it sits against five others, which is the only comparison a refill buyer actually needs.
Aztec is the most concentrated prefilled pod on our shelves and has the widest flavour range at fifteen. Orange County's distillate refill is the nearest thing in kind, in a smaller 1ml pod. The Darwin pods take a different approach entirely, using conventional liquid rather than distillate, which makes them milder and longer-lasting per fill. Hurb's Breeze refill holds far more liquid at 10ml but at a much lower concentration.
None of these are interchangeable. Each one belongs to its own device, so the comparison below is about deciding which system to be in rather than which pod to drop into what you already own.
| Prefilled pod | CBD stated | Pod format | Spectrum | Flavours |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aztec CBD Premium CBD Pods 4000mg 2x2ml | 4,000mg | Two 2ml distillate pods | Broad spectrum | 15 |
| Orange County CBD Distillate Refill Pod 750mg 1ml | 750mg | 1ml distillate pod | Broad spectrum | 10 |
| Orange County CBD CBG 2000mg 6000 Puff Vape Pod | 2,000mg | Sealed high-puff pod | Isolate with CBG | 5 |
| Darwin CBD and CBG 900mg 2 x 450mg Prefilled Pods | 900mg | Two liquid pods | Isolate with CBG | 12 |
| Darwin CBD 600mg 2 x 300mg Prefilled Pod | 600mg | Two liquid pods | Isolate | 11 |
| Hurb Breeze CBD Refill Pod 1000mg 10ml | 1,000mg | 10ml refillable pod | Isolate with CBG | 6 |
Broad spectrum and the rule that actually applies in the UK
One of the pages ranking for these pods states that the product contains less than 0.2 per cent and less than 1mg of THC, as though those were two ways of saying the same thing. They are not, and the difference is large enough to matter.
The consumer rule in the UK is that a CBD product must hold no more than 1mg of controlled cannabinoids, meaning THC, THCV and CBN, in the container. It is an absolute quantity, not a percentage, and it does not scale with the size of what you are buying. The 0.2 per cent figure is a Home Office cultivation limit applied to the standing hemp crop in a field, and it governs farming rather than retail. Read as a retail rule it would permit 4mg of THC in a 2ml pod, four times the real ceiling.
Broad spectrum extract keeps the wider range of hemp compounds and terpenes while THC is stripped out during processing, which is what puts these pods inside the actual test. Vapes also sit outside the FSA Novel Foods regime, which covers ingestible CBD such as oils, capsules and gummies, so no Novel Foods authorisation applies here and no food supplement intake figure translates to inhalation. Everything on this site is 18+ only.
Who should not buy these
If you do not already own the Aztec pod system, start with the kit instead. These are refills, there is no battery in the pack, and a pod on its own does nothing.
If your device is a 510 thread battery, look at cartridges rather than pods. Nothing here will fit, and the pack does not say so loudly enough.
If you are new to CBD entirely, a 2ml distillate pod is a hard place to begin. A lower concentration liquid pod tells you more about what suits you. And if you were hoping the sativa pods would do something different from the indica ones, they will taste different and that is the honest limit of it.
Frequently asked questions
- Do Aztec CBD refill pods fit a 510 thread battery?
- No. They are made exclusively for the Aztec CBD pod system and are not compatible with 510 thread batteries. The connection is magnetic rather than threaded, so a 510 device cannot hold one at all. If you own a 510 battery you want a cartridge instead.
- What is the CBD to terpene ratio inside an Aztec pod?
- Aztec publishes it as roughly 95 per cent CBD distillate to 5 per cent strain-specific terpenes, with no additives or cutting agents. There is no propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin in the pod at all, which is why it needs a ceramic element rather than a cotton wick.
- Which Aztec CBD pods are labelled indica, sativa or hybrid?
- Seven are labelled hybrid: Blue Dream, Blueberry Kush, Gorilla Glue, Mango Kush, Pineapple Kush, Raspberry Kush and White Widow. Four are labelled sativa: Buddha Haze, Fruit Punch, Strawberry Ice and Super Lemon Haze. Three are labelled indica: Sherbet OG, Watermelon Gelato and Zkittlez. Grape Fruit is listed as sativa by one stockist and indica by another.
- Does a sativa Aztec pod affect you differently from an indica one?
- We would not tell you that it does. Those categories are discussed in terms of effect because of THC, and broad spectrum extract has the THC removed during processing. What carries across is the aroma and flavour signature of the strain, so the difference you will notice is a difference in taste.
- How do you tell when an Aztec CBD pod needs changing?
- Flavour fades before vapour does. A pod near the end tastes flatter and faintly toasted, and the terpene brightness goes first, so a citrus profile stops reading as citrus. Once you are drawing harder to chase it, fit a fresh pod rather than pushing an empty one.
- Can you refill an empty Aztec CBD pod yourself?
- They are sold sealed and prefilled and are not designed to be topped up. Refilling one by hand risks flooding the ceramic element, and ordinary bottled e-liquid behaves nothing like the distillate the pod is built around. Fitting a fresh pod is the intended route.
- Will Aztec pods work in a Darwin or Orange County pod device?
- No. Every pod system in our range is closed, meaning each brand cuts its pods for its own battery. Aztec pods fit Aztec devices, Darwin pods fit Darwin devices, and so on. Match a refill to the device you own rather than to the brand of CBD you prefer.
- What is the legal THC limit for a CBD vape pod sold in the UK?
- No more than 1mg of controlled cannabinoids, meaning THC, THCV and CBN, in the container. That is an absolute quantity rather than a percentage, and it does not change with the size of the product. The percentage figures that circulate on CBD listings come from hemp cultivation rules and are not a retail test.
