What the V2 on the carton actually means

Look at the box in the product image and there is a small V2 badge printed on it. Every reseller page we examined sells this liquid without mentioning that badge once.

Professor Herb explains it in exactly one place, on its own listing, where the range is described as reworked for a smoother inhale, a richer terpene profile and a closer match to the strain each flavour is named after. In other words, V2 is a reformulation of a liquid the brand already sold, not a new product line and not a strength change. The milligram figure and the bottle size are unchanged.

That matters more than it sounds, because if you tried the earlier version and did not get on with it, the thing you did not get on with may have been changed. And if you liked the earlier version, this is not quite the same liquid. Neither of those is knowable from any page currently selling it.

We list this as V2 because that is what the carton says and what our distributor supplies. If you are shopping around, check the carton art rather than the product title, because the title is where shops are inconsistent.

All six flavours we carry, and the one we do not

We would rather start with what is missing. The trade range runs to seven flavours. We carry six. We do not stock Bubba Gum OG, and if that is the one you came for, the honest answer is that we cannot help and you should look elsewhere rather than settling for a substitute you did not want.

For the six we do carry, one thing is worth understanding about the naming. These are strain-inspired flavours built from added terpenes on a CBD isolate base, not extracts of the strains they are named after. Isolate has no flavour of its own to speak of, so everything you taste is the terpene and flavouring layer. The names describe an aroma profile, and they do not predict how anything will feel.

You may also notice that these six names are the same names Professor Herb uses on its briquette hash range rather than on the hemp blend pouches, which run on an entirely different flavour set. The brand runs two naming families, and it catches people out when they try to buy the same flavour across formats.

What 1,000mg in 30ml actually compares with

Every page selling this liquid quotes the bottle total. A bottle total tells you almost nothing on its own, because a larger bottle with a bigger number in it can be weaker per puff than a small one. The figure that compares is milligrams per millilitre.

This bottle is 33.3mg per millilitre. That places it in the middle of what we stock, which is a genuinely useful thing to know and something no brand-owned site can tell you, because comparing means holding other brands on the shelf.

The table below is the same calculation applied across our e-liquid range. Read the last column rather than the headline number, and note the booster shot at the bottom is a different kind of product: it is designed to be added to other liquid rather than vaped neat, which is why its figure looks so far out of line.

The kit this liquid suits, and the kit it does not

Here is the most practically useful fact about any vape liquid, and three of the four pages ranking for this one omit it entirely. The brand publishes neither a VG and PG balance nor a power range on its own product pages.

One trade listing does publish both, describing the liquid as high PG and suggesting roughly 12 to 25 watts. We are quoting that rather than asserting it, because it is a single source and the manufacturer has not confirmed it. But it is consistent with the format, and it points clearly in one direction.

A high PG liquid at this concentration is built for mouth-to-lung vaping: a smaller pod device or a plain refillable tank with a higher-resistance coil, drawn like a cigarette. PG carries flavour well and is thinner, which is what lets it wick properly through a narrow coil.

It is not built for a sub-ohm cloud kit. Run a thin, high PG liquid at high wattage and you get a harsh, hot inhale, faster wicking problems and a flavour that turns sharp. If your kit is a big direct-lung device, a higher VG liquid will suit that hardware far better and you will get more out of it.

Two practical notes. Give the bottle a proper shake before you fill, which the same trade listing advises: terpenes and CBD isolate can settle out of a liquid that has been standing, and a shaken bottle fills more consistently. And a 30ml bottle needs a funnel-tip or a steady hand, since it will not fit most pod fill ports directly.

About the 70mg daily figure you will see quoted elsewhere

One of the shops ranking for this liquid tells you not to exceed what it calls the Food Standards Agency recommended daily intake of 70mg. That instruction is wrong in two separate ways, and it is worth taking both apart because the same sentence is copied across a lot of UK CBD listings.

The number is out of date. The FSA revised its precautionary advice for healthy adults down to 10mg of CBD per day, announced on 12 October 2023 after adopting advice from the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs. The 70mg figure is the superseded one. A listing still quoting it is roughly three years behind and is quoting a number seven times higher than the current advice.

The regime is the wrong one anyway. That FSA advice concerns CBD taken as a food supplement, which is why it sits alongside the Novel Foods regime covering oils, gummies, capsules, drinks and edibles. A vape liquid is not a food and is not eaten. CBD vapes and topicals sit outside the Novel Foods regime altogether, which means a daily-intake figure written for food supplements was never the right thing to print on a bottle of e-liquid.

To be completely clear about what we are and are not saying: we are correcting a number, not encouraging anyone to consume more of anything. We give no intake guidance on this page at all. The THC percentage, and what 0.2 per cent of 30ml would really be

Three of the four pages we examined state a THC percentage in a way that suggests it demonstrates the product is legal. One of them says so outright, with a therefore in the sentence. A fourth publishes a different percentage again, much smaller, with no explanation of the discrepancy.

The percentage is not the consumer test and never has been. It comes from Home Office industrial hemp cultivation licensing and governs what a licensed grower's standing crop may contain in a field. It is a rule about farming.

The consumer test is a quantity. UK exempt-product provisions allow no more than 1mg of controlled cannabinoids, meaning THC, THCV and CBN, in the container, whatever size that container is and whatever percentage that works out at.

Now do the arithmetic on this bottle, because it is more striking here than on the small bottles people usually use as the example. Two tenths of one per cent of 30ml is around 60mg. The limit is 1mg. A product satisfying the percentage claim alone could therefore be about sixty times over the actual legal limit. The percentage is not a stricter version of the milligram rule. It is not a version of it at all, and quoting the two together as though they were interchangeable is how the confusion keeps spreading.

None of that means this bottle is non-compliant, and we are not suggesting it is. It means the reassurance most listings give you does not do the job it appears to do. We would rather point you at the certificate of analysis, and we hold what our distributors supply for anything you want to ask about.

Who should not buy this

If your kit is a sub-ohm direct-lung device, this is the wrong liquid, for the reasons set out above. A higher VG e-liquid will give you a better inhale and better flavour in that hardware.

If you have never vaped CBD before, 33.3mg per millilitre is a fair way up the range rather than a starting point. The 10mg per millilitre option in the table above exists precisely for people working out whether this suits them at all.

If you want the entourage of a wider cannabinoid profile, this is CBD isolate, which by definition contains nothing else. The broad spectrum options in the table keep more of the plant's other compounds while still having the THC removed during processing.
