G-Rollz Pets Rock Organic Green Hemp King Size Cones are pre-rolled hemp cones, three to a pack, made in France from finely pressed organic hemp fibre with a natural acacia gum line and the licensed Pets Rock artwork on the wallet. There is one thing about them that no title anywhere mentions, including ours: these belong to the Ape Cones line, and every other Ape Cone is a flavour-pop cone. This one is not. If you have bought Ape Cones before and expected a burst of flavour when you squeezed the filter, that is the distinction to know about before ordering.

This is an Ape Cone, and it is the one without the flavour pop

Our distributor's web address for this product contains the words ape king size pre-rolled cones, and the first line of its description calls them the new Ape Cones from G-Rollz. Neither its own product title nor ours says Ape anywhere.

That would be trivia except for what the rest of the Ape line is. Our distributor carries five flavoured Ape Cones: Monkey Mango, Pineapple Punch, Banana Cloud, Bubblegum, and Berry Blue through a UK retailer. Those have a pop filter, which you squeeze to release a flavour into the draw. One listing for the line describes them plainly as pop activated flavoured.

We compared the two descriptions side by side. On construction they are the same product: France, finely pressed organic hemp fibre, acacia tree sap gum line, a shaped paper shield around each cone. The only difference is that the flavoured version tells you to squeeze the pop filter to activate it, and this one says nothing of the kind.

So the honest reading is that this is the Ape Cone format as a design edition rather than a flavour edition. Same cone, same paper, same shield, no pop. If you want the flavour, you want one of the five named above. If you want an unflavoured organic hemp cone and like the artwork, this is the one.

There may be more in the pack than our own listing says

Our distributor describes three cones and the paper shield around them. A UK-facing retailer selling the same product states that each pack also includes a stick and a mini tray.

If that is right, this is not simply three cones in a wallet. It is three cones, a poker for packing and clearing them, and a small tray to work on. That is a materially different product from the one our own listing describes, and it would be the main reason to choose this over a plain cone pack.

We have not had it confirmed, so we are not going to promise you a tray and a stick. We have asked the distributor. If either matters to you, contact us and we will tell you exactly what is in the wallet rather than reading you a description that may be incomplete.

This is the second time in this range that our own listing has turned out to describe less than the product contains. It is worth knowing as a pattern: with G-Rollz the accessories bundled into a wallet are routinely under-described in trade copy.

Three cones a pack, and one source says six

The pack count is three, stated by our distributor and by a European retailer, and it is in the product title as 3pcs.

One American retailer selling what appears to be the same Pets Rock edition states six king size cones per pack. Two sources against one, and our own title agrees with the two, so three is the figure we would work from.

We flag it because a pack count is exactly the sort of thing that quietly differs between markets, and if you have seen a six-cone version advertised, that is where it came from.

This is also the only three-cone pack on our shelf. Every other G-Rollz cone product we stock comes two to a pack, so if the count is what you are optimising for, this is the one.

Pets Rock is a range, and we carry one part of it

Pets Rock is a licensed artwork series rather than a single product, and our distributor carries seven items under it. We list one, which is this cone pack.

The others are two designs of tobacco tin, a small Rap gift set, a small Reggae gift set, a booklet of wide filter tips, a booklet of organic green king size slim papers, and a booklet of unbleached extra thin papers.

That is worth saying because somebody who likes this artwork is quite likely looking for the matching papers or the gift set, and neither is on our shelf. If you want one, ask us and we will tell you whether it can be brought in rather than leaving you to assume it cannot.

The gift sets are the interesting ones. The Reggae set is specified as a blunt cone, three pre-rolled pop cones, a booklet of papers, four charcoal filters, a booklet of filter tips and a 53mm grinder. That grinder is the smaller Collector size rather than the 60mm hemp composite one we stock, which is a distinction covered on our three-piece grinder page.

What the cone is made of, and where

Finely pressed organic hemp fibre, sealed with an all-natural acacia tree sap gum line. Our G-Rollz Jungle papers use the same gum, so that is consistent across the brand's Organic Green line rather than a one-off claim.

This listing says the cones are crafted in France. Our page for the Jungle papers records a retailer stating Spain for that line. Both are entirely plausible, because France and Spain between them make most of the world's fine cigarette paper and a brand can use more than one mill. So we will say France for this cone, because that is what this listing says, and not make a claim about the brand as a whole.

The cones are described as slow burn and easy fill, tobacco free and nicotine free. Each one comes inside a shaped paper shield that keeps it from being crushed and then flips over to work as a funnel while you fill it. That shield is a genuinely good bit of design and it is covered properly on our Cheech and Chong cones page rather than explained twice.

Nothing in this product contains a cannabinoid. It is paper. Our catalogue currently calls it a CBD-isolate CBD product, which is wrong in every particular, and the generated description behind that is being corrected.

Who this is not for

Anyone expecting a flavour. This is the Ape Cone without the pop filter. If you have had the Bubblegum or Monkey Mango version and liked it, this is not that, and the table above shows which ones are.

Anyone who needs to know exactly what is in the wallet. Our listing says three cones. A retailer says three cones plus a stick and a mini tray. We have asked and we do not yet know, so ask us before ordering if the extras are the point.

Anyone buying by cone count without checking. Three is our figure and one overseas retailer says six. If quantity is the deciding factor, confirm with us rather than with a search result.

Anyone who wants the matching papers or the gift set. Pets Rock runs to seven products at our distributor and we stock one of them.

And anyone rolling something wide. These are king size cones rather than blunt cones. Our Cheech and Chong pack is the blunt option and it is a different shape entirely.

Frequently asked questions

Are these G-Rollz Pets Rock cones the same as Ape Cones?
They are Ape Cones, and no product title says so. Our distributor's web address and the first line of its description both name the line. The difference is that every other Ape Cone has a flavour pop filter and this one does not, so it is the design edition rather than a flavoured one.
Do these cones have a pop filter to squeeze?
No. That is the one thing separating this pack from the five flavoured Ape Cones our distributor carries, which are Monkey Mango, Pineapple Punch, Banana Cloud, Bubblegum and Berry Blue. The construction is otherwise identical: same hemp fibre, same acacia gum, same paper shield.
Is there a tray or a stick in the pack?
Possibly, and we would rather say so than guess. A UK-facing retailer states that each pack includes a stick and a mini tray alongside the cones. Our own distributor describes neither. We have asked for confirmation, so contact us before ordering if the extras are what you want.
How many cones come in a Pets Rock pack?
Three, which is what our distributor states, what a European retailer states, and what the product title says. One American retailer lists six for what appears to be the same edition, so if you have seen that figure, that is where it comes from. We would work from three.
What is the gum line on a G-Rollz cone made from?
Natural acacia tree sap, the same gum used on the brand's Organic Green papers. It is the part of any pre-rolled cone most likely to be questioned by anyone avoiding animal products, and a tree sap answers that. It is consistent across the line rather than a claim made once.
Are these king size cones or blunt cones?
King size. A king size cone is the longer, narrower shape; a blunt cone is shorter and much wider. Our Cheech and Chong pack is the blunt option, so if you were after the wider format, that is the one and this is not.
How many Pets Rock products are there?
Seven at our distributor, of which we stock this cone pack. The rest are two tobacco tin designs, a Rap gift set, a Reggae gift set, wide filter tips, organic green king size slim papers and unbleached extra thin papers. Ask us if you want one of the others.
Where are G-Rollz cones made?
This listing says France. We will not make a claim for the brand as a whole, because a retailer states Spain for its Jungle paper line and both are plausible. France and Spain produce most of the world's fine cigarette paper and a brand can use more than one mill.
