Hempthy CBD Vape Liquid 30ml is a nicotine-free menthol e-liquid made with 99.9 per cent CBD isolate in a seventy thirty vegetable glycerin base. The first thing most people notice about it is the bottle size, because every nicotine e-liquid in Britain comes in 10ml and this one does not. There is a straightforward legal reason for that, and it is worth understanding before anything else.

Why this bottle is 30ml when nicotine e-liquid is always 10ml

The 10ml bottle is not a convention or a house style. It is the law. The Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016 cap nicotine-containing e-liquid at ten millilitres a bottle and at twenty milligrams of nicotine per millilitre. That single rule is why short fills and nicotine shots were invented, and why every nicotine liquid you have ever bought in this country came in the same small bottle.

Read the wording again and the answer appears. The cap applies to nicotine-containing e-liquid. This liquid contains no nicotine, so the bottle limit does not apply to it, which is why CBD e-liquid is routinely sold in thirty, fifty and hundred millilitre bottles while the shelf next to it is uniformly ten.

This trips people up constantly, and the suspicion behind it is a sensible one. Somebody who has only ever bought nicotine liquid sees a 30ml bottle and reasonably wonders whether the shop has made a mistake or whether the product is being sold outside the rules. Neither is the case. A different regulation applies to a different product.

What that does not mean is that CBD e-liquid is unregulated, and we would rather say so plainly than let the point be misread. It still has to be a lawful consumer product, and the UK limit on controlled cannabinoids in a finished container still applies, measured in milligrams across the whole bottle rather than as a percentage of anything. We set that argument out in full on our CBD tea listing, where a label gets it wrong.

There is one more thing worth knowing about the regime. The Novel Foods rules that hang over every CBD gummy, oil and capsule in this country apply to food. An inhaled product is not food, so an e-liquid sits outside that particular process. That is a genuine difference between this bottle and almost everything else we sell, and it is not a loophole, it is simply a different category of product.

The strength, and why we are not going to state it

Hempthy sells this bottle in two strengths, five hundred milligrams and a thousand milligrams, across seven flavours.

Our own product record for this listing does not say which of the two it is. That is a gap in our data rather than a gap in the product, and the honest thing is to tell you about it rather than pick the likelier answer and present it as fact. There is a hint in the file name of the product photograph, and a file name is not evidence of anything.

So the position is this. The bottle is thirty millilitres of nicotine-free menthol CBD e-liquid made with isolate. It is either five hundred or a thousand milligrams, we confirm which before anything ships, and we would rather leave the number blank on this page than put a wrong one on it.

We have logged it as something to fix. It is the first data problem we have found across nineteen Hempthy products, which is a good record, and a missing strength on a CBD e-liquid is the wrong one to have.

For context on what those numbers mean in a bottle this size: five hundred milligrams across thirty millilitres works out at about sixteen and a half milligrams per millilitre, and a thousand at about thirty three. Those are arithmetic, not a recommendation, and how much of it you actually take in depends entirely on your device and how you vape.

Hempthy CBD Vape Liquid: the range and this bottle.

Seventy thirty, and the device that suits it

The full ingredient list is CBD isolate, thirty per cent propylene glycol, seventy per cent vegetable glycerin, and flavouring.

That ratio tells you more about how to use this than anything else on the bottle, and no UK site selling CBD e-liquid mentions it. Seventy thirty is a sub-ohm ratio. Vegetable glycerin is thick and sweetish and makes vapour. Propylene glycol is thin, carries flavour, and provides most of what vapers call throat hit. A liquid that is mostly the former wants a low-resistance coil with a wide wicking port and enough power behind it.

The practical warning is the reverse case. A high-resistance mouth-to-lung pod, the sort of thing designed around thin fifty fifty nicotine salts, will struggle to wick a seventy thirty liquid. What you get is a dry hit and a burnt coil, and people usually blame the liquid.

So this is a bottle for a refillable sub-ohm tank or a pod system that explicitly takes high-VG liquid. If your device is a small pod kit that came with prefilled fifty fifty pods, this is the wrong liquid for it.

Menthol behaves well in a high-VG base, for what it is worth. Cooling agents carry on vapour rather than needing propylene glycol to project them, which is why menthol and ice flavours are common at this ratio and why fruit-heavy or dessert flavours can taste muted.

What it is like, and what we will not tell you

Menthol, on a thick sweet base. Cooling rather than minty, without the herbal edge peppermint gives you, and the vegetable glycerin adds a background sweetness that is characteristic of the ratio rather than of the flavouring.

The CBD contributes nothing to the taste. Isolate is a purified powder with no terpenes left in it, which is why an isolate e-liquid tastes only of its flavouring and its base and never of hemp.

Here is what we are not going to do. The brand's own copy for this range describes what it says the liquid does for you. We are not repeating it, paraphrasing it, or hinting at it. Nothing on this website will tell you what CBD does, because we are not permitted to and because we would not know.

The warnings on the pack are a different matter and are worth passing on straight: not for use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and speak to your doctor first if you are taking medication. The Food Standards Agency advises vulnerable groups not to consume CBD, and that advice covers this shelf as much as any other.

Who should skip this bottle

Anyone whose only device is a small mouth-to-lung pod kit. A seventy thirty liquid will not wick properly in it, and you will burn a coil finding that out.

Anyone who wants nicotine in the same bottle. There is none in this and there is no version of it that has any. Mixing your own is not something we are going to advise on.

Anyone who needs to know the strength before ordering. We have said plainly that our record does not carry it. Ask us and we will confirm from the supplier, but if you want the number on the page before you decide, it is not there yet.

Anyone who does not like menthol. It is the only flavour we stock from a range of seven, and menthol at this ratio is assertive rather than subtle.

And anyone looking for a disposable. Single-use vapes, including CBD ones, have been banned across the UK since June 2025. A refill bottle and a reusable device is what replaced them, and that is the whole reason a product like this exists in the shape it does.

Frequently asked questions

Why is CBD e-liquid sold in 30ml bottles when nicotine e-liquid is 10ml?
Because the 10ml cap in the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016 applies to nicotine-containing e-liquid. A nicotine-free CBD liquid falls outside it, which is why thirty, fifty and hundred millilitre CBD bottles are normal while the nicotine shelf is uniformly ten.
Does CBD vape liquid need Novel Foods approval?
The Novel Foods regime applies to food, and an inhaled product is not food, so an e-liquid sits outside that particular process. That does not put it outside the law generally, and the UK limit on controlled cannabinoids in a finished container still applies.
What strength is the Hempthy 30ml CBD vape liquid?
Hempthy makes this bottle in five hundred and a thousand milligrams, and our own product record does not say which one this listing is. We would rather tell you that than guess. Ask us and we will confirm it with the supplier before anything ships.
Will 70/30 CBD e-liquid work in a pod kit?
Only in one built for high-VG liquid. A seventy thirty base is thick and needs a low-resistance coil with wide wicking. A small mouth-to-lung pod designed around thin fifty fifty nicotine salts will dry-hit and burn its coil on it.
Is there nicotine in Hempthy CBD vape liquid?
None. The ingredients are CBD isolate, propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin and flavouring, and there is no nicotine-containing version of this product. That absence is also the reason the bottle can be thirty millilitres.
How much CBD is in a millilitre of a 30ml bottle?
About sixteen and a half milligrams per millilitre in the five hundred milligram version, and about thirty three in the thousand. That is simple division rather than a suggestion, and how much reaches you depends on your device and how you vape.
Are CBD disposable vapes still legal in the UK?
No. Single-use disposable vapes have been banned across the UK since June 2025, and that ban covers CBD ones as well as nicotine ones. A refill bottle used with a reusable device is the format that remains available.
Why does isolate CBD e-liquid taste of nothing but the flavour?
Because isolate is CBD purified to about 99.9 per cent with the terpenes and other plant compounds stripped out. There is nothing left in it to taste, so what you get is the flavouring and the sweetness of the vegetable glycerin base.
