MediCBD CBD Tea Pyramid Bags hold 7.5mg of CBD in each bag, 150mg across the box, in a black blend and a green blend, in biodegradable pyramid mesh. Two things about this product are stated wrongly or not at all everywhere it is sold, and both matter before you order. The first is caffeine: these are real tea leaves, so the caffeine-free line attached to them cannot be right. The second is that 7.5mg is the amount sealed inside the bag, which is not the same as the amount that ends up in your cup.
Black tea and green tea are not caffeine free
The trade copy for this range, repeated word for word on every listing we found, describes it as caffeine free. The same sentence is applied to four blends: rooibos, camomile, black tea and green tea.
For rooibos and camomile that is correct. Neither is tea in the botanical sense. Rooibos is a South African shrub and camomile is a flower, and neither contains caffeine at all.
Black tea and green tea are a different matter. Both are made from the leaves of Camellia sinensis, the tea plant, and both naturally contain caffeine. Green tea generally holds less than black, but neither holds none. That is not a marginal technical point, it is what tea is.
So either these two blends have been decaffeinated, which no listing anywhere states and which is a specific process a manufacturer would normally shout about, or the caffeine-free line has been copied across a whole range from the two blends where it happened to be true. We think the second is far more likely, and we have asked our supplier to confirm it.
Until they do, assume this tea contains caffeine like any other tea. If you are avoiding caffeine, the rooibos and camomile blends from the same factory are the ones that genuinely qualify, and they sit under the Multitrance label rather than this one.
What is in the bag is not what is in the cup
Every listing for this tea quotes 7.5mg of CBD in each pyramid bag. That figure describes what the factory sealed inside the mesh. It does not describe what you drink.
CBD is lipophilic, which is the technical way of saying it dissolves in fats and oils rather than in water. Drop a bag into plain hot water for the three minutes the instructions suggest and most of the cannabinoid stays where it is. This is well understood across the category, which is why nearly every serious guide to making CBD tea says the same thing: add a fat.
Whole milk is the easiest one. A splash of full fat milk in a black tea gives the CBD something to dissolve into, which is convenient because that is how most people in Britain drink black tea anyway. For a green tea, where milk would be unwelcome, a small amount of coconut oil or MCT oil does the same job.
Here is the honest part. Nobody publishes a figure for how much CBD actually transfers from one of these bags into a cup, under any brewing method. Not the manufacturer, not our supplier, not a single retailer. We are not going to invent one. What we can tell you is that the 7.5mg on the box is an upper bound rather than a serving, and that adding a fat gets you closer to it than not adding one.

The two blends we carry
Both are conventional tea with CBD added, rather than herbal infusions. The pyramid mesh is the one piece of the design that does real work: it gives the leaf room to open, which a flat paper bag does not, and that matters more with a whole-leaf black tea than with a dust-grade one.
The same factory makes this tea in four blends. Two of them, rooibos and camomile, sit under the Multitrance label instead, and those are the genuinely caffeine-free options.

How to actually brew it
Hot water rather than boiling for the green blend. Boiling water scalds green tea leaf and turns it bitter, and since these are whole leaf in a pyramid rather than dust in a paper bag, that difference is noticeable. Around eighty degrees is the usual advice. For the black blend, boiling is fine.
Two to five minutes is the steep time the manufacturer gives, and it is a sensible range. Nearer two for the green, nearer five for the black.
Then add your fat. Milk for the black tea, an oil for the green if you want to bother. If you do not want to bother, that is a legitimate choice too, and you will have a decent cup of tea with an unknown and probably small amount of CBD in it.
One bag, one cup. The pyramid is not built for a pot and squeezing the bag against the side of the mug does nothing useful except make the tea bitter.
The other hot drinks we stock
CBD hot drinks divide by how the CBD is carried, and that determines how much of it you actually consume. A tea bag has to give its CBD up to water. A hot chocolate or a cappuccino sachet dissolves into a drink that already contains milk fat and milk powder, which is a materially better vehicle for a fat-soluble compound.
That is not a reason to avoid tea. It is a reason to know what you are choosing.

Labels, spectrum, and the legal position
This tea is made by Multitrance, which sells it under several names. MediCBD is one of its house labels rather than a separate company, and the same tea appears under the Multitrance name with two additional blends. The spectrum is published three different ways across the market. Our own catalogue records it as isolate, one UK listing calls the range broad spectrum, and the wholesale sheet simply says cannabis extracts. Those are three different things and none of the three is evidenced with a lab report. We are flagging the disagreement rather than picking a side, and we have asked for the current specification.
On the law, the recurring line on every listing in this family is that the product is legal for consumption in the European Union. Britain left in 2020 and that is not a British compliance statement. The UK consumer test on controlled cannabinoids is one milligram per container, applied to the container rather than to a portion or as a percentage of anything. Every listing states this tea as containing no THC.
