Each sachet of Multitrance Hemp CBD Coffee Instant Cappuccino 10mg is one serving of instant cappuccino powder carrying 10mg of CBD, ten sachets to the box, in Classic and Caramel. Hold onto that per-sachet figure, because it is doing more work than it looks. Ten milligrams is the whole of the daily amount the Food Standards Agency advises an adult to take from CBD food supplements, which means one cup of this is a full day's worth of advice in a mug. Nobody selling CBD coffee in this country says so, and the first section explains why that matters more than any flavour note.
One sachet is the entire figure the FSA advises for a day
In October 2023 the Food Standards Agency revised its precautionary advice for healthy adults down to no more than 10mg of CBD a day from food supplements. This coffee puts exactly 10mg into a single sachet.
That is not a warning and it is not a dosage instruction, because we do not give those. It is a piece of arithmetic that puts the number on the front of the box into proportion, and the reason it is the first thing on this page is that the market gets it strikingly wrong.
We tore down five pages selling or explaining CBD coffee in the United Kingdom. Exactly one cites the FSA figure, and that page sells 250mg packs rather than 10mg servings, so it quotes a number nothing on its shelf matches. The three pages selling a 10mg-per-serving product, including the brand's own, never mention the figure at all. The disconnect is complete: whoever knows the number is not selling the product, and whoever sells the product does not mention the number.
What to do with it is your call, and the honest answer is that the FSA figure is precautionary consumer advice rather than a legal limit or a health warning. If you want the reasoning behind it rather than just the number, our guide to how much CBD to take goes through where the figure came from and what it does and does not mean.
One further point on the law, since none of the five pages raises it. An instant coffee with CBD in it is an ingestible product, which puts it inside the Novel Foods regime that governs CBD food supplements in Britain. We are not claiming this product sits on the FSA's validated public list, because we have not verified that it does. Our page on Novel Foods sets out how that regime actually works.

Multitrance sells two cappuccinos, and only one has CBD in it
This is the trap on this product, and it is a trap we have to flag because both halves of it are on our own shelf.
Multitrance makes a Cannabis Coffee Instant Cappuccino as well as this CBD one. Same brand, same instant format, same ten-sachet box, and the same two flavours: Classic and Caramel. The difference is that the cannabis-branded version publishes no cannabinoid figure whatsoever. Our distributor's specification for it reads ten sachets and stops there, where the CBD version reads ten sachets at 10mg each.
The brand runs a third variation on the same theme, a Hemp Coffee Instant Cappuccino, also with no CBD figure. So the word on the box tells you which product you have: CBD means a stated milligram figure, cannabis and hemp mean a flavour and an aesthetic.
We stock both cappuccinos, in the same part of the site, which is exactly why this section exists rather than a footnote. If you want the CBD, this is the page you want and the table below is how to be sure.
The same lookalike pattern runs through Multitrance's teas, which is set out on our page for its pyramid tea bags.
| This product | Multitrance Cannabis Coffee Cappuccino | |
|---|---|---|
| Name on the box | Hemp CBD Coffee | Cannabis Coffee |
| CBD stated | 10mg per sachet, 100mg per box | None published anywhere |

Why 10mg here and 150mg on the tea mean opposite things
Look at two Multitrance boxes on the same shelf and the numbers on the front are measuring different things.
This coffee says 10mg, and that is per sachet. Ten sachets, so 100mg in the box. The brand's Pyramid CBD Tea Bags say 150mg, and that is per pack. Twenty bags, so 7.5mg in each one. Same manufacturer, same aisle, one number describing a serving and the other describing a total, with nothing on either box to tell you which convention is in play.
The consequence is that the coffee looks fifteen times weaker than the tea when it is in fact stronger per cup, and there is no way to work that out from the packaging alone. It is worth checking on any CBD drink before you compare two of them.
For what it is worth, the clearest labelling we found anywhere in this category belongs to a rival product that prints both numbers in its title, so a shopper sees the pack total and the per-serving figure at once. That is how it should be done, and it is not what Multitrance does.
The caffeine question nobody in this market answers
It is coffee. It has caffeine in it. How much, nobody will tell you.
Across the brand's own page, the only UK retailer selling this exact product, and three further UK CBD coffee pages, not one publishes a caffeine figure. Our distributor does not publish one either. We are not going to make one up, so the honest position is that the caffeine content of this cappuccino is unstated by everyone in the chain including us, and if it matters to you the right move is to ask us so we can request it from the distributor.
That gap is sharper on this product than it would be elsewhere in our range, because the CBD teas we stock are explicitly caffeine-free. If you want a CBD hot drink and specifically do not want caffeine, the tea is the format that answers that and the coffee is not.
One thing worth understanding about the format rather than the caffeine. An instant cappuccino is a powder that dissolves whole into the cup, creamer included, so whatever CBD is in the sachet goes into the drink with it. That is a genuinely different situation from a tea bag, where the CBD has to make it out of the leaf and into water that it does not readily dissolve in. Our page on the Multitrance pyramid tea bags goes into that problem properly, and it is a point in the instant powder's favour.
Two claims we are not going to repeat, both made by pages selling this category: that CBD counteracts the side effects of caffeine, and that it softens caffeine's intensity for a smoother energy without the jitters. Those are statements about what a substance does to your body, we have seen no evidence offered for them on any page making them, and they are not ours to pass on.
Classic and Caramel, and what the cup is actually like
Instant cappuccino powder behaves the same way whichever of the two you pick: a sachet into a cup, hot water, stir, and it foams as it dissolves. The creamer is in the powder, so no milk is needed, though it takes milk perfectly well if you would rather.
Classic is a standard cappuccino profile, milky and mildly roasted rather than sharp, and closer to a vending-machine cappuccino than to something from a moka pot. That is not a criticism, it is what the format is. Caramel is the same base with a sweet caramel note over it, and it is the sweeter of the two by a clear margin.
Neither tastes of hemp. The CBD in an instant powder at this level does not announce itself, which is one of the reasons this format exists.
Both are in stock through our distributor at the time of writing.
| Flavour | What to expect | Sweetness | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic | Standard milky cappuccino, mildly roasted, foams as it dissolves | Low | In stock |
| Caramel | The same base with a sweet caramel note layered over it | Noticeably sweeter | In stock |
How it sits against the other CBD hot drinks we stock
The column that matters here is the last one, because it is the only one nobody else in this market fills in.
If you want the highest CBD per cup in a hot drink, the two Multitrance sachet products are it. If you want caffeine, this is the only one of them that has any. If you specifically do not want caffeine, everything else in the table is a better answer than this product.
The Professor Herb instant hemp tea is in the table as an honest counterpoint: it is a hemp drink rather than a dosed CBD one, so it belongs in the comparison and it does not belong in the same column.
| Product | Format | CBD per serving | Caffeine |
|---|---|---|---|
| Multitrance CBD Instant Cappuccino | Instant sachet | 10mg | Yes, amount unpublished |
| Multitrance CBD Hot Chocolate | Instant sachet | 10mg | Only what cocoa carries |
| Multitrance Pyramid CBD Tea Bags | Pyramid tea bag | 7.5mg | Depends on the base tea |
| MediCBD CBD Tea Pyramid Bags | Pyramid tea bag | 7.5mg | Depends on the base tea |
| Hempthy CBD Infused Tea Bags 160mg | Tea bag | 160mg stated on the pack | Depends on the base tea |
| Professor Herb Instant Hemp Tea | Instant sachet | No CBD figure published | Hemp infusion, not a coffee |
Who this is not for
Anyone avoiding caffeine. It is instant coffee, the caffeine level is not published by anyone in the chain, and if that is a hard requirement then the CBD teas in the table are the format that answers it.
Anyone who wants to take small amounts of CBD across a day. A sachet is 10mg and there is no half-sachet: the powder is portioned for you. If you want to build up gradually, an oil with a dropper gives you control that a sealed sachet cannot.
Anyone who wanted the cannabis-branded Multitrance cappuccino. That is a different product with no CBD figure on it, we stock it separately, and it is linked below so you do not have to guess.
Anyone expecting proper coffee. This is instant powder with creamer in it, which is a convenience format and honestly so. It is not a substitute for something you would grind.
And anyone who needs the ingredient panel before ordering. The brand supplies it only as an image that is not legible on its own page, and the one UK retailer selling this product has the field filled in with a placeholder reading that no ingredients are available. If you have an allergy, ask us and we will get the panel from the distributor rather than guess.
Frequently asked questions
- Is one sachet of this CBD coffee a whole day's worth of CBD?
- By the Food Standards Agency's advice, yes. The FSA advises healthy adults to keep intake from CBD food supplements to no more than 10mg a day, revised down in October 2023, and one sachet of this cappuccino contains exactly 10mg. That is precautionary consumer advice rather than a legal limit, and it is not a dosage instruction from us.
- Which Multitrance instant cappuccino actually contains CBD?
- The one labelled Hemp CBD Coffee, which states 10mg per sachet. Multitrance also sells a Cannabis Coffee Instant Cappuccino in the same box size and the same two flavours with no cannabinoid figure published at all, plus a Hemp Coffee version with none either. The stated milligram figure is the only reliable way to tell them apart.
- Why does the Multitrance tea say 150mg while this coffee says 10mg?
- Because the two boxes use opposite conventions. The 10mg on this coffee is per sachet, so the box holds 100mg. The 150mg on the brand's pyramid tea is per pack, so each bag holds 7.5mg. Nothing on either box tells you which figure you are reading, which makes the coffee look weaker than the tea when it is stronger per cup.
- Why does nobody publish the caffeine content of CBD coffee?
- We do not know, and we are not prepared to guess at a figure. Six pages selling or explaining CBD coffee in the United Kingdom were checked for this page, including the brand's own, and not one states a caffeine amount. Our distributor does not either. Ask us and we will request the figure rather than estimate it.
- Does making it with boiling water reduce the CBD?
- There is no evidence offered anywhere that it does at the temperatures involved in making a cup of instant coffee. The more relevant point for this format is that a cappuccino powder dissolves whole, creamer included, so what is in the sachet ends up in the cup. That is a cleaner situation than a tea bag, where the CBD has to leave the leaf and enter water it does not dissolve well in.
- What does the Caramel Multitrance cappuccino taste like?
- A standard milky cappuccino base with a sweet caramel note layered over it, noticeably sweeter than the Classic. Neither version tastes of hemp. At this level the CBD does not announce itself in the cup, which is part of why the format exists.
- How long does a box of Multitrance CBD coffee keep?
- The brand states a shelf life of 36 months from the production date, which is the only source publishing that figure for this line. Keep the box somewhere dry, since the sachets are a powder and the whole point of them is that they dissolve cleanly.
- Can you drink more than one sachet of CBD coffee a day?
- That is your decision and we do not give dosage instructions. What we can tell you is that the FSA's advice for healthy adults is a maximum of 10mg a day from food supplements, and one sachet is 10mg, so a second cup takes you past what that advice describes. Our guide to CBD amounts explains where the figure came from.
