Lemon is the only flavour Vitality makes in every format

Vitality's oral range splits three ways: a dual applicator with both heads in the box, plain oral drops with a pipette, and an oral spray with a spray head only. Go through the flavours and something odd appears.

Berry exists as a dual applicator and as oral drops. Natural exists as a dual applicator and as oral drops. Neither is made as a spray-only product.

Lemon exists as all three. It is the only flavour in the range you can buy as a dedicated spray, and therefore the only one available in every format the brand produces.

Why that is, we do not know, and we are not going to guess at a commercial reason. What matters is the consequence: if you specifically want a Vitality spray without a pipette in the box, lemon is your only option, and if you want any other flavour you are buying a dual applicator whether you want the pipette or not.

Which makes lemon the one place you can test the carrier

This is the part worth the reading time, and it follows directly from the table above.

Vitality uses two different carrier oils across its range. The dual applicators and the spray are built on MCT, a fractionated coconut oil. The plain oral drops are built on hemp seed oil. The problem with comparing them is that you normally cannot, because the format and the carrier change together. Buy the drops and you get a pipette and hemp seed oil. Buy the dual applicator and you get both heads and MCT. Two variables at once.

Lemon is the exception. Because lemon exists in all three formats, you can hold the flavour constant and change only the base: this bottle in MCT against the Lemon Oral Drops in hemp seed oil. Same brand, same flavouring, two different oils underneath it.

For anyone who has wondered whether a CBD oil's carrier genuinely affects the taste or whether it is marketing, that is the experiment, and lemon is the only flavour that lets you run it.

Our expectation, and it is an expectation rather than a measurement, is that the difference is more obvious with lemon than it would be with berry. Sharp citrus over a flavourless base tastes clean, while sharp citrus over a green, seedy oil has something to argue with.

What is in the bottle, and what the numbers mean

Three ingredients: CBD, raw organic MCT oil from coconut, and natural lemon flavouring. The CBD is described as 99 per cent pure with no THC, which is the standard way of describing an isolate.

The bottle comes in two strengths, 2400mg and 4800mg, both in 30ml. That works out at 80 or 160 milligrams in each millilitre.

On the two heads, the thing that catches people out is that they do not deliver the same amount. Our Berry Dual Applicator listing does the arithmetic properly and it applies unchanged here, because the bottle and the applicators are identical and only the flavouring differs.

One recurring figure to ignore. Listings for this product recommend seventy milligrams a day, which is the older Food Standards Agency number. It was revised down for healthy adults in 2023 and our dosage explainer covers why the old one is still in circulation.

A note on natural lemon flavouring

The label says natural lemon flavouring, and it is worth one line on what that is not.

It is a food flavouring, regulated as a food ingredient, added to make the oil taste of lemon. It is a different thing from a terpene profile added to a smokable product, even where the underlying compounds overlap, and our Tangerine Dream listing goes into that distinction and into the chemistry of citrus aroma compounds properly.

For this bottle the practical version is short. Lemon is the sharpest flavour Vitality makes, it reads as peel rather than juice, and over a flavourless carrier it comes through cleanly rather than as a sweetened cover.

If you want the opposite of that, the Natural version is unflavoured and is the honest way to find out what MCT and CBD taste like with nothing on top.

The flavoured dual applicators are the ones you cannot get

Worth checking before you settle on a flavour, because the availability pattern across this range is not random at the moment.

Our distributor currently shows the Natural dual applicator as available and both the Berry and the Lemon as unavailable, in both strengths. So the only dual applicator you can actually obtain is the unflavoured one.

Stock moves and this may well have changed by the time you read it, so the buy box on this page is the live answer rather than this paragraph. But it is a pattern rather than a single gap, and it is worth knowing that the flavoured versions of this format have been harder to get than the plain one.

If lemon specifically is what you want, the Lemon Oral Drops and the Lemon Oral Spray are separate products with their own availability, and between the three of them lemon is better served than any other flavour in the range.

Anyone who wants a mild oil. At 80 or 160 milligrams in a millilitre this is the concentrated end of Vitality's range, and the plain drops at 20 or 40 are the gentler option.

Anyone who dislikes sharp citrus. Lemon here is peel rather than lemonade, and over a neutral carrier there is nothing to soften it.

And anyone shopping right now rather than later should check the buy box before settling on this flavour, because at the time of writing the unflavoured version is the one in stock.
