King Palm Hemp Cones in Natural are unflavoured pre-rolled hemp paper cones in king size, with a plain corn husk filter tip and no flavour capsule inside it. If you have been comparing King Palm cones, there is something about the range that is not stated anywhere and that decides this purchase for you: the 1 1/4 cones and the king size cones do not share a single flavour between them. Natural is a king size flavour. There is no 1 1/4 version to choose instead.
The two sizes are two different ranges
It is natural to assume a brand picks its flavours and then makes each one in every size it sells. King Palm does not do that with its hemp cones.
The 1 1/4 cones come in Banana Foster, Grape Swish and Lil Lemon. The king size cones come in Natural, Honey Berry, Cherry Vanilla, California Cream, Apricot and a mango.
Read those two lists again and you will notice they have nothing in common. Not one flavour appears on both.
That turns what looks like two decisions into one. You are not choosing a flavour and then a length. You are choosing a range, and the length comes attached.
For this product that matters more than for any other in the line, because Natural is the unflavoured one. Anyone who wants a King Palm hemp cone with no flavouring in it at all has exactly one option, and it is this king size.
So the honest framing of this listing is not that it is the plain version of a cone you already like. It is that plain and king size arrive together, whether or not you wanted both.
| 1 1/4 size | King size |
|---|---|
| Banana Foster | Natural, this one |
| Grape Swish | Honey Berry |
| Lil Lemon | Cherry Vanilla |
| California Cream | |
| Apricot and a mango |
What king size actually means here
King size cones from King Palm measure 109 millimetres. That is the standard length for the format and it is far longer than a 1 1/4, which sits closer to a normal cigarette.
The obvious consequence is capacity. A king size cone takes noticeably more filling, which is why they are typically shared rather than worked through alone.
The less obvious consequence is taste, and it is worth understanding before you commit to the format. A longer cone means more paper burning relative to what is inside it, and paper contributes its own character to the smoke. On a flavoured cone that gets masked. On an unflavoured one there is nothing to mask it, so the paper is a larger part of what you notice.
Hemp paper is the mild end of that spectrum, softer and less papery than a bleached wood pulp equivalent, which is part of why it suits an unflavoured product. But mild is not absent, and a king size Natural is the King Palm cone where you will taste the material most clearly.
There is one practical inclusion worth mentioning. The king size hemp cones are published as coming with paper packing sticks for tamping the contents down. Our Lil Lemon listing explains why we would not tell you a bamboo stick is included with the smaller cones, and this is the distinction that makes: paper sticks with king size, confirmed, and the bamboo one belongs to King Palm's leaf products.
The tip is still corn husk, it just has nothing in it
Every King Palm cone comes with a corn husk filter tip fitted in place, and Natural is no exception.
What it does not have is the terpene capsule. On the flavoured cones there is a small sealed ball inside the tip that you squeeze to release the flavour, which our Banana Foster listing goes through in detail. Here the tip is just a tip.
That leaves the corn husk doing the job it was designed for rather than doubling as a flavour carrier: acting as the mouthpiece, holding the shape of the end, and keeping loose plant matter out of the draw.
There is a version of this decision worth thinking through. You could buy a flavoured cone and simply never squeeze the capsule, which gives you an unflavoured cone in the 1 1/4 size the Natural does not come in. The catch is that a capsule can be pressed by accident in a bag or a pocket, and once it has popped there is no undoing it. If you want certainty rather than intention, the cone with no capsule in it is the one that gives you that.
| Cone | Size | Capsule in the tip | Flavour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Natural, this one | King size, 109mm | None | Unflavoured |
| Banana Foster | 1 1/4, medium | Yes | Banana and caramel |
| Grape Swish | 1 1/4, medium | Yes | Grape confectionery |
| Lil Lemon | 1 1/4, medium | Yes | Sweetened lemonade |
What is in it, and who should choose something else
Hemp paper, a corn husk tip and nothing else. There are no cannabinoids in this product, no CBD and no hemp extract. Hemp here is the fibre the paper is made from, in the same sense that linen is made from flax, and our guide to UK CBD law sets out where that line falls.
Now the cautions, which matter more on an unflavoured product than a flavoured one because there is less to distract you.
Skip these if you wanted the medium size. King Palm does not make Natural in 1 1/4, and the nearest equivalent is buying a flavoured 1 1/4 and leaving the capsule alone.
Skip them if you dislike tasting paper. On a king size unflavoured cone the material is a real part of the experience, and there is nothing on top of it.
Skip them if a king size is more than you want to fill. It is a shared format by design, and half-filling a long cone tends to burn unevenly.
And skip them if you came to King Palm for the leaf wraps. Those are the products the brand is known for, and they are a different thing entirely from a hemp paper cone.
Frequently asked questions
- Is King Palm Natural available in the 1 1/4 size?
- No, and this catches people out. Natural is part of the king size range only. The 1 1/4 cones come in Banana Foster, Grape Swish and Lil Lemon, all of which are flavoured.
- Which flavours does King Palm make in king size?
- Natural, Honey Berry, Cherry Vanilla, California Cream, Apricot and a mango. None of them overlap with the 1 1/4 range, so choosing a size and choosing a flavour are really the same decision.
- How long is a King Palm king size cone?
- 109 millimetres, which is the standard length for the format. A 1 1/4 is considerably shorter, closer to the length of an ordinary cigarette.
- Why does the Natural cone still have a corn husk tip?
- Because the tip and the flavour are separate things. Corn husk is the mouthpiece on every King Palm cone, holding the shape of the end and keeping loose material out of the draw. On the flavoured cones it also carries a capsule, and here it does not.
- Do King Palm king size cones come with packing sticks?
- The king size hemp cones are published as including paper packing sticks for tamping the contents down. That is separate from the bamboo stick associated with King Palm's leaf products, which we would not claim is in a hemp cone pack.
- Does an unflavoured hemp cone taste of anything?
- Of the paper, mostly. Hemp paper is at the mild end, softer than bleached wood pulp, but on an unflavoured king size there is nothing covering it, so it is the King Palm cone where the material comes through most clearly.
- Does a longer cone change how it tastes?
- It shifts the balance. More paper is burning relative to what is inside, so the paper contributes proportionally more. On a flavoured cone the capsule hides that, and on this one nothing does.
- Could you buy a flavoured cone and never squeeze the capsule?
- You could, and it is the only way to get an unflavoured King Palm cone in 1 1/4. The risk is that a capsule pressed by accident in a pocket cannot be unpopped, so a cone with no capsule is the more certain route.
