King Palm Hemp Rolling Papers, 1 1/4 Size

King Palm is a palm leaf company, and this is not palm leaf

Start here, because it explains most of the confusion around this product.

King Palm built its name on something else entirely: hand-rolled wraps made from Cordia palm leaf with a corn husk filter already in them, sold as leaf tubes and mini rolls. That is what the brand is known for, that is what most of its shelf space is, and it is a genuinely different object from a rolling paper.

These are ordinary rolling papers made from hemp. No palm leaf, no corn husk, no pre-rolled anything. You roll them yourself, exactly as you would a RAW or an Elements paper.

The confusion is not hypothetical. The deepest retail page we found ranking for this product answers three questions in its frequently asked block, and all three are about palm leaf rolls: what they are made of, whether they are tobacco free, and how to use them. What is in a booklet, and what the maker's own page leaves out

This is the part we had to piece together, and it is the reason this page is worth more than the manufacturer's.

A 1 1/4 booklet holds forty papers. That figure appears on King Palm's own UK store and on its European store, and it does not appear on the product page most people land on. What that page does carry is a bullet block reading Choose from Blueberry, Mango, Tropical Fruits, or Natural, alongside a picker listing Banana, Orange, Red Apple, Strawberry and Natural. The two lists share nothing.

The explanation is straightforward once you look at the sibling page. King Palm's King Size hemp papers genuinely are Blueberry, Mango, Tropical Fruits and Natural, and that page also states its counts properly: thirty-two papers, thirty-two tips, holds about one and a quarter grams. The 1 1/4 page has that block pasted onto it, which brought the wrong flavour list across and lost the counts on the way.

So the flavours in the picker are the real ones. Tips are included, described by the brand as a matching paper filter tip designed to carry the flavour, though the tip count for this size is not published anywhere we could find. We have asked and will add it.

Free of glues, on a paper that has to stick to itself

The brand's description says these are all natural and free of dyes, bleaches, glues and added chemicals. Three of those four are unremarkable and welcome. The fourth deserves a question.

A rolling paper seals along a gum strip. Without one, there is nothing holding the joint together, so a paper with genuinely no adhesive of any kind is not a functioning product. What the industry actually uses on natural papers is acacia gum, also sold as gum arabic, which is tree sap and is about as natural an adhesive as exists.

The charitable and almost certainly correct reading is that King Palm means no synthetic glue, which is a fair thing to say and a real difference from mass-market papers. But the brand does not name what it uses, and nobody selling these has asked. We have put the question to our distributor.

The unbleached point is more straightforward. These are hemp papers without bleaching or dyes, so expect a natural brown rather than a bright white sheet, and expect the paper to be slightly less uniform than a bleached one. That is what unbleached looks like and it is not a fault.

The three flavours we stock, and how a flavoured paper works

Flavoured papers work differently from flavoured cones. There is no capsule to crush and no terpene bead in the filter. The flavour sits on the paper itself and on the matching tip, so you get most of it in the first third and on the lips rather than through the whole thing. Anyone expecting the sustained hit of a flavour-tip cone will find these subtler, and that is the design rather than a shortfall.

Orange is the sharpest and the cleanest of the three, a citrus note that reads more like peel than juice. Red Apple is sweeter and rounder, sitting closest to a confectionery flavour. Strawberry is the softest, more jam than fresh fruit, and the one most likely to be described as too sweet by people who do not like flavoured papers in general.

Two more exist in this size that we do not carry: Banana, and Natural, which is the unflavoured version for anyone who wants the hemp paper without the fruit. If you want either, tell us and we will ask.

1 1/4 against King Size, and why they share only one flavour

If you have seen a King Palm paper flavour somewhere and cannot find it here, this is almost certainly why.

The two sizes are not the same range in two lengths. They have different flavour sets with exactly one overlap, and different counts in the booklet. Natural is the only flavour available in both. Blueberry, Mango and Tropical Fruits are King Size only. Banana, Orange, Red Apple and Strawberry are 1 1/4 only.

On size itself: 1 1/4 is the standard middle length, about 78mm, and is what most people mean by a normal paper. King Size is longer, and King Palm state theirs holds about one and a quarter grams. If you habitually roll bigger, the 1 1/4 will feel tight.

How these compare with the other hemp papers we carry

We stock hemp papers from several houses and they divide on two questions: flavoured or not, and tips in the booklet or not.

King Palm sits in the flavoured camp with tips included, which is a smaller field than it sounds. Most hemp papers are unflavoured and many sell tips separately. The trade-off is that a flavoured paper is a stronger flavour than most people expect on the first one and a weaker one than a flavour-tip cone delivers, so it suits someone who wants a hint rather than a theme.

No cannabinoid, and who should not buy these

One plain sentence first, because it belongs on a shop like this one. These papers contain no CBD, no CBG and no cannabinoid at all. They are hemp paper. We carry them because they are hemp and because people buying them are usually buying grinders, trays and wick in the same order.

Now the honest part. Anyone who dislikes flavoured papers should not start here. The flavour is on the paper and the tip, it is noticeable, and it does not wash out. Natural exists for exactly this reason and we do not currently stock it.

Anyone who rolls large should look at King Size instead, and should know they will be choosing from a different flavour list entirely.

Anyone who wants the product King Palm is famous for should not buy a booklet of papers. The palm leaf tubes and the pre-rolled hemp cones are separate things and both are linked above.

And anyone who wants a bright white, perfectly uniform paper will find these browner and more variable, because that is what leaving out the bleach does.
