What a hemp briquette actually is

Hash is not a plant product in the way flower is. It is made from the resin, the sticky material that collects on the surface of hemp flowers and carries most of the plant's cannabinoids and aromatic compounds. How to break one up without ruining it

So a compliant CBD hash product does not become lawful by pointing at the field it grew in. A Home Office industrial hemp cultivation licence covers the stalk, fibre and seed of the plant. Resin comes from the flower, which the licence does not cover. And the percentage figure that gets quoted everywhere governs what a licensed grower's standing crop may contain, which is a rule about farming rather than a rule about what may be sold to you.

The route that actually matters runs through the exempt product provisions in the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001, and it is about the finished product in your hand rather than the plant it came from.
