What diamonds and sauce actually means

The name describes a physical format, not a marketing flourish, and it is worth understanding before you open the jar because the two parts behave differently.

The diamonds are crystalline. When a CBD distillate is purified far enough and left to sit under the right conditions, the cannabidiol comes out of solution and forms solid crystals, which look like coarse sugar or small quartz fragments. They are the concentrated, largely flavourless part.

The sauce is the liquid they sit in: a thick, viscous terpene-rich distillate that carries essentially all of the aroma and taste. It is the sauce that makes a Wedding Cake jar taste like Wedding Cake, because terpenes are what give any strain its character.

Together they run at 95 per cent CBD with 3 per cent CBG named separately, which puts this among the most concentrated formats on our shelves. That concentration is the whole point and also the whole caution, and both are covered further down.

Three shops, three different THC answers, and what we will say instead

This is the part worth reading properly, because it is the reason this page exists in the form it does.

We tore down the three retailer pages ranking for this exact jar. One publishes a THC percentage. Another publishes a percentage twenty times tighter. The third says nothing about THC at all. Same product, same distributor, three positions.

The first of those goes further and presents its percentage as the reason the product is legally compliant in the UK. That reasoning does not work, and it is worth being precise about why. The UK consumer rule is a limit of 1mg of controlled cannabinoids, meaning THC, THCV and CBN, in the container. It is an absolute quantity. A percentage, by contrast, produces a different milligram answer for every container size it is applied to, so the same percentage that would be trivial in a small bottle becomes a very different number in a larger one. A percentage claim therefore cannot establish compliance on its own, whatever the number is. Percentages come from Home Office hemp cultivation rules, which cap what a licensed grower's standing crop may contain in a field.

So here is our position, plainly. Full spectrum is the grade that deliberately retains the wider cannabinoid profile, THC included, which is exactly why the paperwork matters more here than on an isolate. We are obtaining per-batch certificates of analysis from our distributors for every full spectrum product we list. Until we hold one for a given batch we will publish no THC figure for it, in either direction, and we will not repeat anyone else's. No competing page makes that disclosure. We would rather be the page that says what it does not yet know than the page that rounds a number up and calls it a guarantee.

The ten strain profiles

Ten terpene profiles, though you would not know it from the shops: one lists eight, one lists ten and one lists ten in a different order. The strain names describe the terpene blend the sauce is built to imitate rather than the plant the CBD came from.

Two of the ten are not strain names at all. Indica Blend and Sativa Blend are house blends, and it is worth repeating what we said on the Aztec pods: with a product like this the indica and sativa labelling describes terpene character rather than predicting an effect. We are not going to tell you one will do something the other does not.

The set divides into dessert profiles, which are the sweetest and the most approachable, citrus and fuel profiles, which are the sharpest, and the earthy classics.

How a concentrate like this is actually used

Not one page ranking for this product gives any usage guidance at all, which is a strange omission on something a first-time buyer genuinely cannot work out from the jar.

It is vaporised, in very small amounts, using equipment made for concentrates. That usually means a dab rig with a quartz or ceramic banger heated and allowed to cool to the working range, or an electronic concentrate device that holds a set temperature. A dab tool picks up the material, since it is far too sticky to handle any other way.

Amounts are much smaller than people expect coming from flower or e-liquid. At 95 per cent, a portion the size of a grain of rice is a normal starting quantity. There is no sensible way to eyeball a milligram figure from a sticky concentrate, which is another reason we do not quote one.

Temperature is what separates a good session from a wasted one. Too hot and the terpenes that carry the entire flavour are destroyed before you inhale them, which is why an overheated dab tastes of nothing but harshness. Letting the surface cool before applying the material is the single change that most improves the result.

Two practical notes. Keep the jar cool and closed, because terpenes are volatile and an open jar loses its aroma quickly. And use a tool rather than your fingers, both because the sauce sticks to everything and because the diamonds are easy to lose.

Check whether you are buying full spectrum or broad spectrum

There is a trap on this product that no retailer flags. Diamonds & Sauce is sold in two versions at the same 95 per cent: a full spectrum one and a broad spectrum one. The titles are near identical, several shops sell both, and the product photography is largely the same.

The jar on this page is the full spectrum version. Full spectrum keeps the wider set of compounds the plant produced, THC included, which is what puts it in the scope of the paperwork question above. Broad spectrum has the THC removed during processing while keeping the rest.

If you are avoiding THC entirely, whether on principle or because of workplace testing, the difference is not a nuance, it is the whole decision, and you should confirm the spectrum on any listing before you order rather than assuming from the picture.

Against the other solid extracts we stock

Concentrates sit in the hemp and hash aisle rather than with the vapes and oils, and the products there vary far more than the category name suggests. A comparison is more useful than a description.

This jar is the most concentrated of them by cannabinoid percentage and the only one built as diamonds in sauce. Cannapower's resin is the nearest full spectrum relative. Euphoria's solid extracts are pressed products at much lower concentrations. Professor Herb's extracts are a different proposition entirely and carry a caveat set out in the table.

Who should not buy this

If you have no concentrate equipment, this jar is unusable. It will not go in a vape tank, it is not designed to be eaten, and a lighter and a pipe is not the answer. A prefilled cartridge or a pod kit gives you the same cannabinoid in a format you can actually use.

If you are new to CBD, 95 per cent is not the place to begin and there is no gentle way to approach it. An oil or a low strength vape will teach you far more about what suits you.

If you want no THC in your product at all, full spectrum is by definition the wrong grade. Choose the broad spectrum version or an isolate, and if you are subject to workplace testing, avoid full spectrum rather than reasoning about quantities.
