The number is the bag, and the count is missing

Twelve hundred milligrams describes the whole 125 gram bag. To turn that into something useful you need one more number, which is how many bears the bag contains, and that number is published by nobody. Not by our distributor, not on the brand's own listing.

Look at how much that matters. Two other UK brands sell 1200mg gummy bear bags. One puts 25 bears in it. The other puts 40. Same headline figure, and a per-sweet content that differs by more than half between them.

Apply that spread to this bag and one bear could hold roughly 30mg or roughly 48mg. Those are meaningfully different, and no buyer can tell which from anything printed on the front.

This is the recurring problem with milligram figures on confectionery, and it cuts both ways. A large number looks impressive on a bag and tells you almost nothing until you know what it is divided between.

Twelve hundred milligrams next to the FSA's advice

There is one piece of context that puts the figure in proportion, and it is worth setting out carefully because it is advice rather than a rule and it is certainly not an instruction from us.

In October 2023 the Food Standards Agency revised its advised maximum daily intake of CBD from food supplements down to 10mg, from a previous figure of 70mg. That is a precautionary consumer guideline about food supplements, which is exactly the category a CBD gummy falls into.

Set 1200mg against 10mg a day and a single bag represents a great many days of that advice. Whatever else it is, it is not a serving.

We are not going to tell you how many to eat, because that is not a retailer's place and because a dosage instruction from a shop would be inappropriate. What we can do is give you the two numbers and let you hold them next to each other, which is more than most listings manage.

Novel Foods actually applies to this one

Most of what we have written about recently sits outside the FSA Novel Foods regime, because vapes, topicals, incense and rolling papers are not food. A gummy is food, so this product sits squarely inside it and the rules are worth stating accurately.

A finished ingestible CBD product sold in the UK is expected to appear on the FSA Public List under a valid novel food application, and to meet the exempt product criterion of no more than one milligram of controlled cannabinoids per container. Products whose applications carry a status of validated or awaiting evidence may remain available while the process continues.

Here is the part almost nobody states plainly. As of 2026, no CBD product has received full novel food authorisation. Not one. The FSA opened consultations on the first full authorisations in late August 2025, the comment period closed on 20 November 2025, and decisions are pending.

So the honest position on any CBD edible in the UK right now is that the entire category is operating under transitional arrangements rather than under completed authorisations. We cannot confirm this specific line's Public List status, and we are not going to imply a listing we have not verified. We have asked our distributor.

Four hundred or twelve hundred, and this time it really is strength

Cannapower sells this identical 125 gram bag at two figures, 400mg and 1200mg. Same bag, same weight, same sweets, three times the CBD.

That is worth stating explicitly because it is the opposite of a trap we documented elsewhere on this site. The Bubbly Billy Buds lollipops are sold as 120mg and 400mg packs, and those turn out to be the same 40mg sweet in packs of three and ten. On that range the headline numbers are quantities wearing the clothes of strengths.

Here they genuinely are strengths. The bag weight is fixed at 125 grams in both, so the only variable is how much CBD went into the same amount of sweet.

A buyer who learned to be sceptical on one range would apply that scepticism wrongly here, which is exactly why it is worth saying. Both patterns exist in this market and the only way to tell them apart is to check whether the pack size is also changing.

The same brand that publishes nothing on its resin

One honest observation about Cannapower, since we stock more than its gummies.

The brand's CBD and CBG resin, which we also carry, publishes no milligram figure, no percentage and no certificate of analysis anywhere. We wrote about that at length on its own page, because it is the only solid extract on our shelf with no stated potency at all.

These gummies carry a large, prominent number. Same company, two completely different levels of disclosure depending on the product.

That is not a criticism of the gummies, which are the better-documented half. It is a reason to check what each individual product tells you rather than assuming a brand has a consistent standard, and it is the kind of thing you only notice if you stock the whole range.

The brand itself is genuinely British, states that its products are made in the UK, and runs three shops in London that you can walk into. That is more provenance than most of this category gives you, and it is also why the missing figures on the resin are fixable rather than untraceable.

The rest of the range

Cannapower's gummies come in five shapes, each at both strengths, all in a 125 gram bag and all currently available. It is the most regular range on our shelves, which after some of the ranges we have documented is a relief.

The shape is a texture and format decision rather than a flavour one in every case, and the CBD figure is identical across shapes at the same strength.

Who should buy something else

If you need to know exactly what is in one sweet, wait until we have the count. A bag total without a piece count is not a figure you can portion from, and we would rather say that than let you guess.

If you are new to CBD, the 400mg bag is the same sweets at a third of the concentration and is the more sensible starting point. Buying the strongest version of something before you know how it suits you is rarely the right order.

If you are avoiding sugar, these are confectionery. A gummy is sugar and gelling agent with something added, and no CBD figure changes that.

And if a confirmed Novel Foods listing is what you need before buying an edible, we cannot yet give you one for this line, and it is worth knowing that no CBD product anywhere holds full authorisation at the moment.
