Cannapower CBD Infused Peach Rings at 400mg are a 125 gram bag of pectin-set ring gummies with 400mg of CBD stated across the whole bag, and they are the entry strength in a range that has exactly two. There is 400mg and there is 1200mg, and nothing in between. That gap turns out to be worth a page of its own, because when we pulled every gummy brand on our shelves into one table it stopped looking like a Cannapower quirk and started looking like the shape of the entire category.

This is the bottom rung of a two-rung ladder

Cannapower makes its gummies in a grid, and it is an unusually tidy one. Five shapes, two strengths, one bag size, no exceptions. Bears, cherries, fruit cubes, peach rings and strawberries, each at 400mg and 1200mg, all in a 125 gram bag.

That means every choice you make within the brand is a choice about shape, apart from one, and that one is a big step. Four hundred to twelve hundred is a factor of three.

There is no 600mg bag. There is no 800mg bag. If the entry bag turns out not to suit you, the only move the brand gives you is a tripling, in an identical pack, with no intermediate stop.

That is a real limitation and it is worth knowing before you start rather than after. It is also, as it turns out, entirely normal.

How every gummy brand we stock builds its strength ladder

We sell CBD gummies from nine brands, so we can do something no individual brand is in a position to do: put all of their strength ranges in one table and look at the shape of it.

The result is more lopsided than we expected. Five of the nine make a single strength and nothing else at all. Aztec CBD, H Bomb, MediCBD, Multitrance and Resident Dank each have exactly one figure in the gummy category, so there is no ladder to climb. You either get on with that strength or you change brand.

Two more, Cannapower and Euphoria, have two rungs roughly three times apart. Euphoria's are 120mg and 400mg, which is a jump of about three and a third. Cannapower's is the clean 400 to 1200.

That leaves two brands with a ladder you can genuinely climb. Hempthy runs 300, 900, 1000 and 1200. Orange County runs 100, 200, 400, 1200, 1600 and 4800, which is the widest range on our shelves by a distance.

Even Orange County has the same hole though. Between 400 and 1200 there is nothing, exactly as with Cannapower. Something about this category makes brands comfortable with a threefold gap in the middle, and nobody explains it.

The practical reading is straightforward. If you already know roughly what suits you, a single-strength brand is not a problem. If you are starting from nothing and expect to adjust, the two brands with real ladders are the ones that will let you do it without switching maker.

What to do when the next rung is three times up

The honest answer is that the range does not give you an intermediate step, so you have to make one yourself or go elsewhere for it.

Making one yourself means adjusting how many sweets you have rather than which bag you buy, which is the whole reason the per-piece figure matters more than the bag total. We set that argument out in full on our page for the 400mg bears and it is the single most useful thing to read before you open either bag.

Going elsewhere means Hempthy or Orange County, the two brands above with genuine ladders. Hempthy's 300mg is a shade below this bag and its 900mg sits neatly in the gap Cannapower leaves empty. That is not a criticism of Cannapower so much as an observation about what a two-rung range can and cannot do.

Our guide to how much CBD people actually take covers the general question, including what the FSA currently advises, and is linked below. We are not going to tell you what to take on a product page, because that is not something a shop should be doing.

What this bag is actually for

Calling it the weak one misses the two jobs it genuinely does well.

The first is obvious enough. It is the first bag, the bottom of the ladder, and the brand makes nothing gentler.

The second is more interesting and follows from the tidiness of the grid. Because all five shapes exist at 400mg, the entry strength is where you can work out which shape you actually prefer. A ring, a cube, a bear, a cherry and a strawberry made from the same recipe eat quite differently, and finding that out at the bottom of the ladder is more sensible than discovering it at the top.

We have written about the shape differences across those pages: why a ring has the most surface area of the five, why a cube is the most consistent piece to piece, why the cherries are the densest chew. All of them are linked below.

As for the rings themselves, expect the flavour to arrive quickly and the sweet to break cleanly rather than stretch. Our page on the 1200mg rings explains why that is, and why the peach ring you remember from childhood was almost certainly built differently.

Who should buy something else

If you already know that a low concentration does nothing for you, skip this bag and go straight to the 1200mg version, or to a brand whose ladder has a rung where you actually want to stand.

If you want a peach that fights back, the Hempthy Fizzy Sour Peaches are the sharp option on our shelves and come in 300mg and 1000mg, which happens to bracket this bag rather usefully.

If the elastic chew is what you want from a peach ring, this is pectin and it will not deliver that. We would rather tell you here than have you find out from the bag.

And if you need to know how many rings are in it, nobody publishes a count, which is the same gap we have flagged on every page in this range.

Frequently asked questions

Is 400mg a low strength for CBD gummies?
It is the entry rung in the Cannapower range and sits toward the lower end of what we stock generally. Across our nine gummy brands the figures on the bag run from 100mg to 4800mg, so 400mg is comfortably in the lower half without being the smallest available.
Why is there no 600mg or 800mg Cannapower bag?
Because the brand builds its range as a simple grid of five shapes at two strengths, and those two are 400mg and 1200mg. There is no intermediate bag, so the only step the brand gives you is a tripling. Two other brands we stock do fill that gap.
Which CBD gummy brands have the most strengths?
Orange County by a distance, running 100, 200, 400, 1200, 1600 and 4800 across its gummy lines. Hempthy is second with 300, 900, 1000 and 1200. Those two are the only brands we stock where you can step up without changing maker.
Do most CBD gummy brands make more than one strength?
No, and that surprised us when we checked. Of the nine gummy brands on our shelves, five make a single strength and nothing else. Two more have only two rungs, roughly three times apart. Just two have ranges you could describe as a proper ladder.
Should I buy the 400mg peach rings first?
If you are new to the brand it is the sensible entry point, and there is a second reason beyond concentration. All five Cannapower shapes exist at 400mg, so it is where you can work out which shape you prefer before deciding whether to move up the range.
Are the 400mg and 1200mg rings the same sweets?
Yes, identical in shape, recipe and bag weight. Both are 125 gram bags of the same pectin ring, so the only variable between them is how much CBD the manufacturer has put in. The stronger bag is not more confectionery.
What if 400mg is not enough but 1200mg is too much?
You either adjust how many sweets you have rather than which bag you buy, or you look at a brand with a rung in that gap. Hempthy has a 900mg gummy that sits squarely in the space Cannapower leaves empty, and Orange County has several options in the same region.
How do Cannapower peach rings taste at 400mg?
The same as the 1200mg bag. Concentration does not change the flavour formulation, which is fruit juice concentrate, apple and natural flavours over two acids. Expect the flavour to arrive quickly, since the ring shape carries more surface area than the other four.
