Euphoria Cannabis Airlines: Cannabis Chocolate

Euphoria puts the milligrams in the name when there are any

The manufacturer's own chocolate range runs to sixteen bars. Exactly two of them state a CBD figure, and both announce it in the product name: one is sold as a cannabis chocolate with CBD milk at 100mg, the other as a dark cannabis chocolate with 100mg CBD.

The other fourteen, these Cannabis Airlines bars among them, state no CBD figure anywhere. On the manufacturer's own page for the dark bar, CBD is not mentioned at all. What is mentioned is Cannabis Sativa L. seeds and a hemp seed flavour.

That gives you a rule you can check yourself, which is worth more than any assurance from a shop. If a Euphoria chocolate does not carry a milligram figure in its name, it does not contain CBD. The two that do are explicit about it, and the naming is consistent across the range.

It is a sensible convention and the brand deserves credit for it. The difficulty is that nobody selling these bars ever explains it, so the absence of a number reads as an oversight rather than as the answer.

Hemp seeds are the ingredient, and seeds do not carry cannabinoids

Both bars are built on peeled hemp seed at ten per cent, which is a substantial inclusion rather than a garnish. That is what gives them their character.

Cannabinoids, CBD included, form in the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant. They are not produced in the seed. Peeled hemp seed, sometimes sold as hemp hearts, is a food ingredient in the same family as sunflower or pumpkin seeds: high in fat and protein, mildly nutty, and carrying essentially no cannabinoids.

So a chocolate containing ten per cent hemp seed is a hemp chocolate in a completely genuine sense. It simply is not a CBD chocolate, and the two are different products despite sharing a plant.

The manufacturer is not being evasive about this. Its own description talks about seeds and hemp seed flavour, and it reserves CBD language for the bars that have CBD in them. It is the retail layer where the distinction gets lost.

The Cannabis Airlines line contains both kinds of product

Here is the part that makes the naming convention genuinely necessary. Cannabis Airlines is a sub-brand, not a formulation, and it spans products with and without cannabinoids.

The Cannabis Airlines cookies publish a real figure. Their ingredient list names a hemp flavouring containing CBD at 2,000mg per kilogram, so there is measurable cannabidiol in them. The Cannabis Airlines chocolate does not, and its ingredients contain no CBD at all.

Same sub-brand, same packaging language, two entirely different propositions. If you buy across the Cannabis Airlines range assuming consistency, you will be wrong about half of it.

There is a second trap worth naming. Euphoria also makes an 80g milk chocolate with hemp seeds that carries 100mg of CBD. Same weight, same brand, same hemp seed premise, and it does contain cannabidiol. The only reliable way to tell it from this bar is the figure in its name.

Two bars, and what ten per cent hemp seed does to chocolate

Dark and milk, both currently available, both 80g.

The dark bar is built on cocoa mass, sugar, reduced fat cocoa powder, peeled hemp seed, cocoa butter, emulsifiers and vanilla extract. The milk bar leads with sugar, cocoa butter, whole milk powder and cocoa mass before the hemp seed, so it is sweeter and softer.

Hemp seed brings texture more than flavour. Peeled seeds are soft rather than crunchy, closer to a pine nut than a hazelnut, and they add a faint green nuttiness that sits behind the cocoa. In the dark bar that reads as an earthy edge against the bitterness. In the milk bar the sugar and milk powder largely cover it, so the seeds register as texture and very little else.

If you want to actually taste the hemp, the dark bar is the one. If you want chocolate that happens to contain hemp seed, the milk bar is the safer choice.

Allergens the brand page does not mention

Worth stating plainly, because the manufacturer's own product page runs to roughly a hundred and twenty words and publishes no allergen information at all.

The milk bar contains whole milk powder, so it is not suitable for anyone avoiding dairy, and it is not vegan. Both bars contain soya lecithin as an emulsifier. Both also contain polyglycerol polyricinoleate, a second emulsifier commonly used to control how chocolate flows during moulding.

The dark bar has no milk powder in its published list, but chocolate is routinely produced on shared equipment and the brand publishes no may-contain statement either way, so we are not going to describe it as dairy free.

One genuinely good thing to report. Copy across the range states that these products have been through laboratory analysis to confirm the absence of synthetic cannabinoids. That is an unusual thing to test for and an unusual thing to publish, and it is worth crediting.

Euphoria's cannabis cookies and CBD cookies both publish 120mg figures, so if a stated cannabinoid content is what you want, those are the Euphoria edibles that have one. The Weed Buddies rice balls and the hash brownie, like this chocolate, carry no figure.

That is not a criticism of the products without figures. A hemp seed chocolate is a real and pleasant thing. It is a criticism of shelving that puts both kinds side by side without distinguishing them, which is a problem we are working through product by product.

Who should skip this one

If you want CBD, this bar has none. Euphoria's own cookies publish a 120mg figure and its two CBD chocolates say so in their names. Any of those is what you actually want.

If you are avoiding dairy, the milk bar contains whole milk powder, and we will not call the dark bar dairy free because no may-contain statement is published.

If you are avoiding soya, both bars contain soya lecithin.

And if you were expecting the hemp to be the dominant flavour, ten per cent seed in a chocolate bar is noticeable in the dark version and close to invisible in the milk one. It is chocolate with hemp seeds in it, not a hemp product with chocolate around it.
