One sweet a day, for thirty days. The count divides, the total divides, and the implied daily amount is ten milligrams.

Which happens to be exactly what the Food Standards Agency advises. Its precautionary guidance for healthy adults is no more than ten milligrams of CBD a day from food supplements, a figure it revised down in October 2023. So the serving this pouch implies and the figure the regulator publishes are the same number.

That is genuinely uncommon. Most of what we write on these pages involves untangling a label from itself: a count that does not divide, a percentage standing in for a milligram figure, a phrase doing different work on two products from the same maker. What one a day is actually like

The sweet itself is a firm, chewy hard gum in the wine gum family, set with pectin and starch rather than gelatine, which is what makes it vegan and what makes it a longer chew than a soft bear.

At ten milligrams there is nothing to taste beyond the fruit flavouring. Isolate carries no terpenes, so none of the grassy or herbal character that puts people off full spectrum products is present at all. If you have tried a hemp-forward product and disliked it, this is about as far from that experience as the category goes.

The practical difference between this pouch and the larger one is the habit rather than the sweet. Thirty sweets at one a day is a month, and the pouch empties on a schedule you can actually keep track of. Fifty sweets at twenty milligrams is a different proposition and a less tidy one.

The colours are visibly muted next to synthetically coloured competitors, which is what a paprika and turmeric palette looks like. That is the trade the ingredient list makes and we think it is a fair one.
