What the jar actually declares

Take the label at face value, because it is more informative than any description written about it.

It says Cannabis Candies. It says Rasta, or whichever of the five flavours you are looking at. And in small type along the bottom it says with Cannabis Sativa L. oil. There is no milligram figure, no percentage, and no mention of cannabidiol anywhere on the pack.

Cannabis Sativa L. oil is hemp seed oil. It is a food ingredient, pressed from the seed, and it is used across the food industry in everything from salad dressings to protein bars. It is not a CBD extract. Cannabinoids sit in the resin on the flower rather than in the seed, which is why seed oil characteristically carries very little of them.

So the honest way to put this is that no CBD content is stated for this product, by Euphoria or by anyone selling it. We are not going to tell you it contains none, because we have not tested it and nobody publishes a figure either way. What we can tell you is that the maker does publish figures for its CBD sweets, and does not for this one, which is a deliberate distinction rather than an oversight. The next section shows exactly how deliberate.

One more absence worth naming. There is no ingredients list and no allergen information published for these sweets anywhere, including on the manufacturer's own page. On confectionery that is a real gap, and it is the second time we have run into it on a Euphoria sweet.

How to tell a Euphoria CBD sweet from a Euphoria cannabis sweet

This is the useful part, and it takes about ten seconds once you know it.

Euphoria names its confectionery in two families, and the names are consistent. Anything called CBD something carries the words pure CBD in the maker's own description and states a milligram figure. Anything called Cannabis something is described by its flavour and states no cannabinoid figure at all.

That holds right across the range. On the hard candy shelf the maker sells CBD Candies at 150mg and at 300mg, both described as being made with pure CBD, alongside these Cannabis Candies, described as being made with cannabis flavour. On the gummy shelf it sells CBD Gummies at 375mg and 750mg. On the lollipop shelf, every single line is a Cannabis line, and not one of them carries a figure.

It is a genuinely reliable rule and no shop publishes it, which is how a flavour-led sweet ends up filed next to a 1,000mg one with nothing to tell them apart. We would rather hand you the rule than rely on you noticing.

For completeness: Euphoria does make CBD Candies with a stated milligram figure, and we do not stock them. If that is what you want, we cannot supply it and you should look elsewhere for that specific product. What we can do is point you at the CBD sweets we do stock, which is further down.

All five flavours

Every page selling these names the five and describes none of them, so here is the set with something useful attached.

The base flavour running under all of them is what Euphoria calls a very strong spicy flavour of sweetened cannabis. In practice that means a herbal, faintly peppery green note of the kind you get in a cannabis-flavoured sweet, sitting under whatever fruit is on the label. It is assertive rather than subtle, and it is the reason people either like these a lot or not at all.

Four of the five are sour. The sourness comes from an acid coating on the outside of the sweet, so the first few seconds are sharp and then it settles into the herbal base underneath.

Availability moves flavour by flavour at distributor level rather than across the range at once, so check the selector for the one you want rather than assuming all five are ready to ship on any given day.

Is it 140g or 175g, and what does With Sativa mean

Two small things worth clearing up, because both are live on pages selling this product right now.

On the weight: you will see both 140g and 175g. They are the same jar. 140g is the net weight of the sweets, which is what is printed on the pack, and 175g is the gross weight including the jar itself. The manufacturer publishes both figures side by side and at least one retailer has taken the larger one and presented it as the product weight. You are getting 140g of sweets.

On the name: one UK shop lists this as Euphoria Cannabis Candies With Sativa and defines that phrase nowhere on the page. It is not the manufacturer's name for the product, which is simply Cannabis Candies. Sativa is one of the botanical names of the plant, and it also appears in the label's Cannabis Sativa L. oil, so the most likely explanation is that somebody shortened the label wording into a title. We mention it because a word like Sativa in a product name reads as a claim about what is inside, and here it is not one the maker makes.

If you wanted CBD sweets, buy one of these instead

We would rather you left with the right thing than the wrong thing that happened to be in the right aisle.

If what you actually want is a sweet with a cannabidiol content you can point at, we stock several, and the useful comparison is not brand against brand but which ones print a number on the pack. All of the alternatives below do.

Hard sweets are the closest format match to this jar. The chewing gums are a different experience but carry the clearest per-piece figures in the whole aisle.

Who should not buy this

If you are buying it for the CBD, do not. Nothing on the pack or in the manufacturer's description supports that, and one of the sweets in the table above will serve you far better.

If you dislike cannabis-flavoured confectionery, this will not win you round. The herbal note is deliberately strong, it runs under all five flavours, and there is no version of these where the fruit hides it.
