Why nothing here is called a disposable

The Environmental Protection (Single-use Vapes) Regulations 2024 came into force on 1 June 2025. From that date it became unlawful to sell or supply a single-use vape in the UK, meaning any device with a fixed battery, a fixed coil and a tank you cannot refill. The rules make no distinction between nicotine, nicotine-free and CBD. A CBD disposable is as banned as any other.

You would not know it from the search results. Two of the pages ranking above this one still carry the word disposable in their page titles and their URLs, and one is a CBD brand's own collection built entirely around a format it can no longer legally sell. The word survives because that is what people still search for, which is fair enough, but a listing using it in 2026 is either describing something else or describing something it should not be selling.

What legitimately replaced the format is the rechargeable pod kit. Two things make a device compliant: it charges, usually over USB-C, and the part holding the liquid comes out and is replaced. Both are visible on the product before you buy. If a device has neither, no UK shop should be selling it.

In use the difference is small. A modern pod kit is auto-draw, so there is no button, and a sealed pod clicks into the battery in a second. What changes is what you do when it runs out: instead of binning the whole thing, you charge the battery and order another pod, which is the entire point of the regulation.

The five things in this aisle, and which one you need

This aisle is sorted by hardware rather than by brand, because the hardware decision comes first and constrains everything after it.

If this is your first CBD vape, buy a pod kit. It contains the device and a filled pod together, so nothing else is required, and it settles which refills you will be ordering afterwards. Everything else in this aisle exists to keep a kit you already own running.

Buy the kit once, then order the pod that fits it

Here is the thing that decides whether you are happy with a CBD vape six months from now, and the thing not one page in this search result set publishes. Pod systems are proprietary. A Darwin pod does not fit an Aztec device, a Hurb pod does not fit an Orange County one, and no amount of pushing changes that. The kit you buy is a commitment to that brand's refills.

Cartridges are the exception. They use the 510 screw thread, which is the closest thing vaping has to a universal fitting, so a 510 battery pen will take cartridges from more than one brand. Reading the strength on a pod

Vape strengths are labelled three different ways in this aisle, which is why comparing two devices on the front of the box rarely works.

Milligrams are the most common. A figure like 750mg or 2000mg is the total in the pod or the pair of pods, so a pack sold as 600mg (2 x 300mg) holds 300mg in each of two pods rather than 600mg in one. Read the bracket, not the headline.

Percentages appear on the concentrate lines. Aztec's cartridges are labelled 55 percent and the Euphoria cartridge 97 percent, which describes how much of the liquid is cannabinoid extract rather than carrier. Orange County splits the difference and prints both, listing its CBD plus CBG device as 2000mg and 10 percent. The conversion is the same as it is for oil: 10 percent is about 100mg in every millilitre.

Puff counts are the third. They are the most intuitive figure and the least standardised, since a long slow draw takes more liquid than a short one. Darwin is the useful example because it publishes both halves of the arithmetic on its own packaging: up to 600 puffs from a pod, at about 0.5mg of CBD in each puff, which is how 300mg in a 2ml pod turns into something you can actually picture. Orange County's 6000 puff device sits at the other end of the scale.

Two practical points. Concentration and total are not the same thing, so a small high-percentage cartridge can be stronger per draw than a large pod with a bigger number on it. And CBD plus CBG lines, which Darwin, Orange County and Hurb all sell, blend two cannabinoids rather than doubling the CBD. CBG is a separate, non-intoxicating cannabinoid, not a stronger version of CBD.

Where CBD vapes sit in UK law, and where they do not

Three separate rules apply to a CBD vape, and pages in this search result set tend to mention one and skip the others.

First, the single-use ban already covered above. That one is about the hardware and nothing else.

Second, the cannabinoid limit. A CBD product may be sold in the UK when it holds no more than 1mg of controlled cannabinoids in the whole container. Per container, not per puff and not as a percentage of the liquid. The percentage-of-THC figure quoted on several competing pages, and in Google's own summary for this search, is a hemp cultivation rule describing what a licensed farmer may grow. It has never been the test for a finished product. That distinction matters most for the full-spectrum lines here, from Aztec, Iguana Smoke and Professor Herb, and we require the batch certificate from our distributors on every one of them.

Third, and this is the one nobody states: CBD vapes sit outside the Novel Foods regime. Novel Foods applies to things you eat and drink, which is why our gummies and oils are inside it and a vape is not. If a listing implies FSA authorisation covers its vape, it is misapplying a rule that does not reach this aisle. That cuts both ways, and it is worth knowing rather than being reassured by a badge that means nothing here.

One more thing that looks like a contradiction until it is explained. You may have noticed our Hurb pods are 10ml, when the nicotine vape you bought last year was capped at 2ml. The 2ml tank limit and the 10ml bottle limit are nicotine rules under the tobacco and related products regulations. Everything in this aisle is nicotine-free, so those limits do not bind, which is why CBD pod capacities vary far more widely than nicotine ones.

The rest is the usual and applies without exception. These are over-18s products. They are not medicines, and nobody selling them may tell you what they do for a health condition. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or taking prescription medication, speak to a GP or pharmacist first.

Flavours, terpenes and why everything is named after a strain

Two naming conventions run through this aisle and they signal different things.

Strain names such as Zkittlez, Gorilla Glue, Super Lemon Haze, White Widow and Wedding Cake come from terpenes, the aromatic compounds that give a cannabis variety its smell. A CBD vape carrying a strain name is flavoured with a terpene profile matching that variety. It is a flavour claim, not a potency claim, and it tells you nothing about strength. Aztec, Orange County's distillate line, Iguana Smoke and Euphoria all use this convention.

Fruit and confectionery names, which Darwin and Orange County's CBD plus CBG device use, are exactly what they sound like. Bubblegum, Cola Cubes, Pink Lemonade, Watermelon Ice. If cannabis-tasting vapour is not what you want, that is the half of the aisle to shop.

Menthol is worth calling out separately because it is easy to buy by accident. Darwin's ranges include several menthol mixes, and Ice Mint appears on the Aztec cartridges but not on the kit, which is one of the odder inconsistencies in the aisle and worth checking before you order a matched pair.

Flavour range is also the practical argument for one brand over another. Aztec's fifteen give you somewhere to go when you tire of one. Hurb's six do not. That is not a criticism of either, but it is the thing people regret after buying the device rather than before.

Not everything on this shelf is a CBD vape

Two categories of product in this aisle are not what the aisle name implies, and we would rather say so here than let you work it out at the checkout.

The H4CBD lines are the Euphoria 97 percent cartridge and the Professor Herb 1000mg pod kit and refill pod. H4CBD is hydrogenated CBD, produced by adding hydrogen to CBD in a laboratory to make a related but different molecule. It is semi-synthetic, it is not CBD, and it holds no Novel Foods authorisation, though as explained above that regime does not cover vapes in any case. It is sold because people report it as considerably stronger. We list these lines because our buyer chose to, having seen the full argument, and we flag them rather than filing them quietly among the CBD pods. The rest of the H4CBD range sits in the hemp and hash aisle.

The other is the Professor Herb dry herb vaporiser. It is hardware. It heats dried plant material you supply yourself and contains no CBD, no liquid and no pod. It sits in this aisle because it is a vaporiser, which is a format, and formats are how this shop is organised. If you were looking for something to inhale CBD from out of the box, it is not that.

When a CBD vape is the wrong purchase

Vaping is the fastest way to take CBD, and it is still the wrong format for a lot of people who arrive on this page.

If you do not already vape, there is no good reason to start here. Inhaling anything carries risk that swallowing a gummy does not, and the same cannabinoid is available in our CBD oil and CBD gummies aisles without it. The speed advantage is real, but it is an advantage for people who already own a vape and are choosing what goes in it.

If you want something long-lasting from one purchase, a vape is the wrong shape. A pod is measured in hundreds of puffs across a few days, whereas a 30ml bottle of oil lasts weeks. Vaping suits little and often, not once a day.

If your workplace tests for drugs, note that a good part of this aisle is full spectrum. Isolate and broad-spectrum lines are the conservative choice, and no retailer can promise you a result on any of them.

If you are buying for the flavour range and expect to keep switching, check the flavour list before the device, not after. Committing to a six-flavour system when you wanted fifteen is the most common regret in this category and the easiest to avoid.

Keeping a pod kit working

CBD vape liquid is thicker than nicotine e-liquid because there is a cannabinoid extract suspended in it, and nearly every complaint about these devices traces back to that one fact.

Cloudiness and crystals are the usual one. A pod left somewhere cold can go cloudy or throw visible crystals, which looks like a fault and generally is not. Warming the pod in a hand or a pocket for a few minutes and rolling it gently normally puts it back. It is not something to fix with heat from a radiator.

Give a new pod a minute before the first draw. Thick liquid takes longer to soak into the wick than nicotine liquid does, and firing a dry coil is the fastest way to ruin a pod you have just clicked in. Short, gentle draws work better than long hard ones on almost every device here.

Charge with the cable the kit came with, or an equivalent, and do not leave a device charging overnight out of habit. Store it upright and out of direct sun, because a warm car does the same thing to a pod that it does to a bag of gummies.
